We are planning a trip to WDW (8-21 to 8-30) coming up faster than I expected and yet not fast enough. So I have been planning and killing time both on these boards. While my DH has worked for the Walt Disney Co. for 25 years (we have been together for 13.5 of those years and married 7.5 of them) compared to some of you I feel like a novice in the planning realm.

Like I said I am new to this board and I am having so much fun. My DH started working for Disneyland in parades as a chimney sweep and has worked "very" closely with Goofy but most of his time has been as a production stage manager in entertainment.

I love Disney (something my Mother instilled in me as a young child). But now that I am a mother myself Disney has taken on a whole new meaning. My DD (4) and I go often to Disneyland but mostly cammando runs while DH is working. However she is getting older and is wanting more of the experience like she had her first trip to WDW last year.
I was looking around the Disneyland site and giggled when I told my DH that I had no idea all that Disneyland had to offer. I knew about Goofys Kitchen and that was about it and even then I never think to go. Amazing how much I took for granted. So now we will be staying 3 days at the Disneyland Grand Resort in December of this year and plan to do it all. But first we are WDW bound Aug. 21 - Aug. 30 2009.
I am learning so much here and I hope this trip is something my daughter will remember for the rest of her life.

Well I will have to continue this later or my DD will have to go to bed with pool hair. Its off to the showers for her and me!!! I will reveal the plans I have made so far tomorrow.

My DH and I took our DD to WDW in June 2008. We traveled with some dear friends and while it was fun the trip ended up being mostly about them and their 7 year old DD. Our DD, 3 at the time, ended up waiting a lot and not doing as much as she wanted. For example our friends have a pool at home and were not terribly interested in swimming and my DD would have given days up at the parks to get into the pool. We did the pool 2 times maybe and all my DD asked for was to swim. But she was great and patient.

So this year it is all about her, and she is beside herself. I unfortunately made the mistake of telling her when we finalized the plans in May that we were going. HAHAHA silly Mommy...at least 3-4 times a week she asks "Mommy is Florida the day after this day?" She is just so cute... I can't stand it.

We are leaving on a red eye Friday August 21 and coming home Sunday morning August 30. Just in time for DD to start Kindergarden Sept 3. Wow where did the time go. I can still vividly remember looking at my 31 week 3 pounder lying in an incubator hooked up to all the machines. When Disney asks what will you celebrate...well we celebrate every day of life. Now she is a perfectly healthy precocious 4 (4 3/4 as she would say) year old ready to take on the world.

Ok time for lunch and I will add more later. I need to figure out how to add a picture so I can share my family with you.
