I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place, so feel free to move, if needed! :-)

I'm headed to WDW OKW June 25th-July 2nd for our babymoon! I'll be 23 weeks pregnant the day we leave. I tried to book a little earlier, but this is the week we got.

Any advice and tips for WDW while pregnant? Stay hydrated and take breaks, yes! Anything else? We plan to arrive at park opening to do the safe for pregnancy rides and to leave midday to avoid the heat and crowds later in the day. We'll likely hang by the pool in the afternoons.

Any fun photo ops? Any off the beaten path things to do I normally wouldn't on my usual commando style touring? haha...we typically go hard, so trying to find ways to slow down, relax and just enjoy being in WDW before our little guy arrives.

TIA!

I went at 6 1/2 months pregnant. We have never been commando style park goers but we really took it much slower and I needed to. It was exhausting, much more then I thought it would be. Our bodies work very hard while pregnant. Our way of thinking was that we had already gone several times and had done it all so there was no reason to try to do as much as possible. I really just enjoyed taking in the details. You miss so much going from ride to ride. Maybe get the hidden Mickey's book and look for the hidden Mickey.

I never went pregnant and going pregnant in the summer just sounds miserable. Stay extra hydrated and utilize your mornings and/or evenings. Take advantage of your sit down, air conditioned attractions. Do things you normally wouldn’t as park commandos and people watch some too. (It can be highly entertaining) and did I say hydrate???!!!!! Listen to your body and take rests as needed. Maybe do some character meet and greets. Those would make cute pictures for the baby album!!

Stay away from Animal Kingdom. I found that to be the most unfriendly pregnant park. You can't really ride anything and there are like no benches anywhere, I hated it both times.

I'm a local so I went often while pregnant (from March to November, so all types of weather). I was around 22-23 weeks pregnant when I got invited to a Cast Member preview of Galaxy's Edge. It was August, so very hot. It was an amazing time (so few people!) but WOW I was miserable by the end of the day. We were there from about 9 am to 3 pm and it hurt so much to walk by the time we left that I almost cried realizing I had to walk all the way from Galaxy's Edge, to the front of the park, and then to the car. I will add that my feet started swelling about midway through my pregnancy so dealing with that was no fun. I drank a LOT of water, like 200+ ounces that day. I would highly recommend downloading a water tracker app to use during your trip. I used one daily anyway, but it's a nice reminder to drink because you need way more than you think. I also carried emergency snacks with me - crackers and tubs of peanut butter. Obviously there's food all around at Disney, but I needed to eat way more often than I usually did and the emergency peanut butter saved me numerous times. :P Sit down whenever you can, find lots of shade and indoor seating. Tiki Room, Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress, and all those types of shows are your friends.

Sit down as often as you want/need, get some fun snacks, bring a ton of water!!! Stay cool! And just enjoy. Ride what you can and then just enjoy the ambiance. Plan for a pool day. Take tons of pics!!

Congratulations! Get a celebration button for your pregnancy--it can make for some fun photos throughout the parks or even with the characters, especially Mickey!

There are special photography packages, I think it’s like a private photographer for an hour or so? Might be fun maternity photos.

I’ve done Disney 2x pregnant. Wear super comfortable shoes and clothes, drink more water than you think you need. Otherwise, have fun! 23 weeks is super do-able.

I'm sorta local, too, and went often throughout my pregnancy. We walked all of Epcot 4 days before my induction, actually!

It really will depend on how you feel. I had no issues walking long distances in the summer heat but my thirst was off the charts. And when I needed water, I needed it RIGHT THEN. I remember bursting into tears while in line for free ice water at Electric Umbrella  DH learned real fast that when my water bottle went dry, filling it was top priority. I was also highly emotional and after a big ugly cry during Voices of Liberty, had to change what shows and rides we did - ha! There are so many pregnancy safe rides that I didn't feel like I was missing out on much.

I loved taking character photos throughout the pregnancy. Especially now that DS is meeting them! Even if you aren't feeling photogenic, I'd encourage you to stop for them.

I’ve been to WDW three times while pregnant. Once was first trimester, the other two were around 26 weeks or so. I had no issues on any of those trips, and a couple of them I was lugging around a nearly two year old. I was my usual self plus a few extra bathroom breaks. Fast forward 5 years later and I was pregnant again. I didn’t go to Disney during this (my most recent and final) pregnancy. I wouldn’t have been able to. Sciatic pain made it really hard for me to walk starting in the 2nd trimester. I got light headed SO easily anytime I was on my feet, even to wait in line at the grocery store or another local store. That started around 15 weeks. I never could have handled lines at Disney in the heat. I actually ended up delivering that baby early due to some blood pressure issues. Every pregnancy is different. Be prepared for anything and everything. Chances are in the 2nd trimester you’ll be fine, but be prepared for the possibility you are really physically limited and may need to plan accordingly.

It will be very HOT.
Keep a drink in your hands or close by.
Look for benches . You can circle back if you need to rest.

We went 4x this past year while I was pregnant! I am def a park commando so the fact that I couldn’t do half the things I wanted/normally do like roller coasters and Epcot beers forced me to find other ways to have fun. Here’s what I liked:

-Using it as an excuse to snack as much as possible. At one point I was eating a hot fudge sundae from Storybook Treats on my way to Auntie Gravity’s for a brownie sundae
-Getting a prenatal massage at the Grand Floridian
-Having time for the kiddie rides and shows that I normally skip in favor of the headliners (Carousel of Progress, the Vacation Fun short in HS)
-Disagree on AK being miserable, it IS hot and limited in terms of attractions but I enjoyed watching the animals
-Resort hopping - not something I’d ever done before but again, snacks.

I second eating. Whether you’re craving sugar or some super specific snack, odds are you can find it there.

Also just walking around having The Feels about things. I was a cryer for the first time in my life while pregnant. Watching Happily Ever After while all kinds of hormonal gave me all the feels.

Husbands, ha ha! I think the HEA lyrics were especially touching for moms-to-be... although to be fair the Country Bears probably would have made me cry at that point in my life too! 😂
My husband and I watched HEA from the Poly the day we took our pregnancy announcement photos in front of the castle. We had been trying for five years to get pregnant. I was a mess. :rotfl2:

Good idea on the Hidden Mickey book! Thanks!

Yes! Perhaps we'll do some meet and greets. I've actually never done them, haha, so now is a good opportunity!

Yeah, I was thinking of popping in for Conservation Station and maybe the bird show and then exiting early in day. I'm so sad to miss Flight of Passage.

Yes, our plan is 9am-12pm in each park and then resting at the resort and pool. We may head into the park in evening but just for shows and no rides. Good tip on snacks! I have a ton of pregnancy apps where I'm tracking water, haha.
