As in the title, my DD who is a Uni student recently found out she is expecting a Baby (Big Shock and at first I was mortified) she will be 24 to 26 weeks when we are there, is it worth the visit or should she cancel,I have planned some lovely meals, dessert party and Mickey backyard BBQ, I'm not a roller coaster type of person so IMO I think she should still come as it will be a long time that she will have the chance again...

Totally worth it. I went to disney last December when I was about 28 weeks along and I had a fabulous time. There was actully very little I couldn't do relative to the whole trip. I enjoyed so e nice water/snack/shade breaks while my party did the mountains :-) I'd say DHS was the park I felt most limited since I couldn't do 3 of my favorite headliners (ST, RnR, and ToT). Disney is actually a great vacation for a pregnant person and at that point in her pregnancy, as long as everything is normal, she should feel pretty good.

The one thing I would do is the check her insurance to be sure she is covered in case of premature delivery. My DS21 was born very early and had he been born two week later, we would have been on vacation. Otherwise it should be fine. I would follow all the cautions, even if they seem silly, drink plenty of water and plan rest if she needs them.

Went last October at 24 weeks. It was absolutely fine. The heat did get to me more than usual so just took breaks in the shade when needed and really made sure to stay hydrated...and swimming was great. Overall great trip!

What health insurance plan doesn't cover premature delivery, even when you're on vacation at WDW?

I'm guessing the pp things that the daughter is an international traveler since it's not that common for Americans to refer to college as Uni. Not all medical coverage covers international travel, or if needed long term a medical flight home.

To the OP - a trip to Disney is fine while pregnant. :) That was also the time period I was most comfortable, morning sickness was finally over and I wasn't huge yet.

My first trip was when I was pregnant, and I loved it! More chance to consume all those yummy calories! There was plenty to do and ride.

Totally fine. I was cleared for the "low" thrill rides, basically just not the coasters. My first born's first time on Splash Mountain was in utero. :)

I was actually living in Orlando at the time, but when I traveled while pregnant I simply got a short form of my pregnancy records to take with me in case I needed them and I stayed hydrated and walked on the plane. (Pregnant women are more likely to get clots in their legs, so you want to walk the plane aisle every hour or so).

I echo what the PPs have said. It's completely doable. I went last November at 28 weeks pregnant and did well. I walked more slowly than usual and we went back to our resort for an afternoon break, but we had to do that anyway for our 3yo daughter. Coasters can't be ridden (not even Barnstormer), but pretty much everything else is ok to ride. Just take it slow, stay hydrated and eat and sleep well, and have a great time.

Yes we are travelling from the UK, insurance will cover us and we will ensure she gets as much rest as poss, she can sit on small world for the duration of our stay :) Thank you for your replies it has put my mind at rest

Oh keep your trip:):) I have been to Disney twice while pregnant, had a great time! Just make sure there's plenty of time for rest/sitting and lots of fluids.

Having been while PG twice, I would suggest being sure she eats and drinks regularly. Stay in the shade as much as possible, and be aware of all warning signs for rides. Some rides I wouldn't have expected to be a concern, were (Kilimanjaro Safari) and the CMs will not warn you.

Swimming was a life saver each afternoon.

Don't be afraid to ask for a seat, or ask to have the lines moved into the shade (ETwB for instance) if there's a long wait. While we were at MK, The ETwB line was long, but not going under the overhang -meaning I was standing int he sun for 45 min - I ended up passing out just as we got to the building - the rest of our day was pretty much over at that point b/c I couldn't recover from it very easily. Luckily some lovely ppl let me in to sit in the AC and shade while waiting for DH and our girls to catch up.

I went the Disneyland with my family while I was 30 weeks. Also with my 15 mos (at the time) old. We had a great time. I just took lots of breaks. Anything my baby couldn't ride, I didn't.

I will be 17 weeks on our next trip. I expect to be feeling good by then. Dh can go on all the coasters (twice if he wants to book FP+ with my band as well) while I character hunt. Looking forward to a relaxing trip.

I did have a question for mommies to be about certain rides. Specifically Splash and 7DMT. Splash isn't really a big of a ride despite the way it looks. I don't "feel" it more than the drop on pirates for example. Has any mommies gone on it in the 2nd trimester? What about 7DMT? We didn't get to ride it last month, so I have no idea how rough it is. I know it is on the no-go list according to Disney's lawyers, but is it actually an issue or is Disney being overly lawsuit cautious? We go to Disney twice a year and are already planning little one's first trip for next fall (s/he will be about 7 months old), so skipping either ride is not really an issue. It is more just my curiosity. Also, what about aquaduck? We will be on Dream for 4 nights during our trip. It is also on Disney's no-go and it does seem a little rough in pictures.

Haven't tried splash while PG, but there are a couple more little dips and hills, also the sudden speed change at the bottom of the drop would leave me feeling jostled too much if PG - but then Kilimanjaro Safari isn't recommended - and I rode it and had severe contractions for the rest of our trip leaving me almost bed ridden as a result - many ppl still ride KS with no effect. After that experience while PG, I choose to error on the side of caution.

I've been on the water slide at AKV - long but that's it - even trying to go slow prior to hitting the water, I found hitting the water REALLY hurt b/c my belly got shoved right to my chin - if the slide ends in water, I say don't do it - if there's a dry landing, then it may be okay - but I wouldn't risk it knowing what I know now.

I did Splash in my second trimester and had no issue at all...I don't find Splash to be jostling at all really, no more than any other kiddie ride. My midwife signed off on it, but not on roller coasters. I stayed off those. I'm not sure I would do any water slides - that is direct force on the body vs being in a ride vehicle.
