Well we booked our trip for September, last month. And This weekend we found out I am pregnent :) we have been trying for over a year- just didn't think it would happen again- so that seems to make my due date 10/29- making me 8 mos along during our planned trip  yeah I don't see that happening. I was so excited about this trip, so I am little bummed- and can't decide what to do..
Should we postpone it a bit and go down with a newborn? or try to go a little earlier so I won't be *as* pregnent ?? of course that just makes it hotter:confused:
I am curiouse how many brave ladies did Disney while pregnent- and how pregnent??

It looks like you have a daughter so you have been pregnant before. Remember how big and uncomfortable you felt near the end? Now imagine trying to walk all over WDW while feeling like that. I personally would cancel and try to move it earlier (4th or 5th month) or after your new arrival is a few months old.

i suppose it depends on a few things

how far you have to travel to get there? if its not so far its not as big a deal

did you carry to term or have any problems last time?

maybe go just a few weeks earlier and look at it as your last trip with your family as it is now, befor ethe baby madness comes ...:rotfl:

Congratulations by the way xxxx

I did WDW the end of August one year and I was due the beginning of October. I went with my sister and our girls, ages 9, 5, 4, 3, and 5 mos. We had fun and I had no problems. Lots of people thought we were nuts, but we didn't care. We were in DISNEY!!!!

I had no issues with my first pregnancy- dd was 1 week late.. This trip is 10 days and we planned to take it slower- but we are in VA- and are driving- so thats a long trip. Another reason I am trying to talk myself into it- my dd who will be 4 by then, is so excited about going back- she talks about it all the time, and we told her about the MNSSHP - & she is a halloween freak to begin with- and now I am afraid if we cancel she is going to be super upset at the new baby- KWIM? She really isn't crazy about the idea of a new baby- when I ask her she just says - we already have a baby- Panda Baby (her stuffed panda):sad2:

I am seriously considering going when the new baby is a month or 2 old- maybe we need to bring Nana with us to babysit LOL
:confused3

Personally, I would NOT want to be trudging around WDW in the Sept. heat @ 8 months. If you postpone just a few months it will be cooler (relatively!) and your new baby will be a joy!

Are you planning to drive? Because you may not be allowed (by the airlines) or encouraged (by your doctor) to fly while 8 months pregnant.

I went to WDW the week after Labor Day (31/32 weeks along) and DD was born 11/1 so right at your time frame. At that point it was just DH and I. We had a blast. I honestly was not miserable....yes I had some ankle swelling by the end of the day - but not any worse than spending a day at work for the most part. It was great!! (And not that it matters but I am/was an older first time mom at age 29 so I wasn't a young'un with endless energy to start with :rotfl: ) I have a 4 year old now and I think I would be more likely to go with her anticipating the trip under the same circumstances. It's a great opportunity to get one last trip in with her an only child where it can be all about her and not have to share your attention with the baby. Of course all of that depending on your doctor's okay.

I'd talk to your OB. I've been warned, both with DS & the little one on the way, not to go anywhere outside a 1 hour radius of the hospital from 32 weeks on. Travelling from VA to Florida would pretty much count as being over an hour away. :) Also, should there be any issues, you may be put on travel restrictions even earlier. (My SIL wasn't supposed to go anywhere with her 3rd & 4th pregnancies after about 28 weeks.) I was 8 weeks + along when we just went & had a lot of fun, even though there were things I couldn't do. So, I'd either move it up a LOT, or hold off until early December/January.

I would say either go really soon, to avoid the heat. Maybe try for an April or May trip. Or wait until the baby is four or five months old. I've done both stages, as I went when I was about four months pregnant and when my youngest was about five months old. Both worked out great.

If you go when you're pregnant...bring lots of snacks. You can't eat like you do on a typical vacation...big meals when you get to them. (At least, that's how I eat on a vacation, typically!) Lots of water, too.

If you go when the baby is little...it will be great, too. They love to be in slings and carriers. There is so much to look at!

I do think it would be really hard to go in the high heat at eight months. Sometimes babies come early too, and it's a lot easier to reschedule now!

Congratulations...this is such happy news! You'll work out the vacation part!

we will be driving- we do the drive overnight, so dd sleeps most of the way.
I am trying to recall- when my dd was 1 month old we traveled to Myrtle beach for a wedding and she just slept most of the time- I do like the idea to have a last trip where it will all be about her- but now I'm thinking a 1 or 2 month old shouldn't effect that too much KWIM? the only thing is we couldn't all ride stuff together- unless Nana comes to Babysit like I mentioned ;)
what can you ride if you are very pregnant? As far as kid rides ? cause that is all we do anyway LOL

Do you want to be in the car that long while that pregnant? Do you want to do all that walking in the sun while that pregnant? Personally I'd have been miserable but you know your body.

Of the kid rides... no autopia. Small World, all the dark rides, Casey Jr., Dumbo (if you fit! ;)) should all be fine. I might skip the teacups because of the yak factor.

I'll be 35 weeks along the first week of August when we go!...I'm not changing my plans-no way!

Its not as if you are going to a third world country. THey have Doctors and hospitals in Orlando that I'm sure are sufficient. :)
Unless you have special restrictions, I'd just go!

I'm going against popular opinion here, and saying "go". I was nine months pregnant when I went last June (37 weeks) - and I flew there. If DD is excited to be going, I wouldn't postpone it. (Just one more change she'll be facing as a result of the new baby). We actually went when I was so far along in order to get in a little more individual time just before the baby got there.

Like another poster mentioned - Orlando does have hospitals and doctors if, on the odd chance, something happened.

I have been in Disney for both of my pregnancies and when my children were both newborns. Both were great, but I would suggest moving your trip up a month or two. the heat won't make that much of a big deal (I went in August while I was prego). Taking a baby as young as a month or two, the noise of the attractions might be startling.
Either way I am sure everyone will have a great time. Best of luck!

I was 8 months pregnant and I went on a 2 week trip to England, Germany and France. No, it wasn't like it would have have had I not been pregnant but I was still working out daily so I didn't have any problems. I would vote YES! OK, so I couldn't ride some of the rides when we went to Disneyland Paris but I still had a great time (no other kids though, so your situation is different).

Truly, it all depends on how you feel. I had all day sickness for the first 4 months so if that was when I was supposed to go I'd have canceled in a fast minute. By my 8th month I was feeling great! But, I've had friends who by their 8th month are just counting the days until they deliver.

If you were doing great in your 8th month with your first you'll probably be just fine this time around too.

Best wishes.

I went when I was 4 months pregnant and it was great. No problems, showing a little bit, so I wasn't too big to ride the rides. We planned another trip for this September and then I found out I was pregnant (due beginning of September). So needless to say we are now going in April. We wanted one last hurrah as a 4 person family before we add number 5. Then I'm sure we will go again when that baby is one. With my second baby I was bigger round than with the first and by the 8th month I am not that pleasant. It depends how you are. When we went to Disney last September it was HOT. It was hotter than when we went in July. You'll have fun no matter what, but why put yourself through that?

I cannot comment on the WDW aspect of your trip... but as to the drive...

I travelled from NJ to VA when I was about 36 weeks pregnant with my DD. I did not sit in the front seat-- I lounged in the back (which presumably, you cannot do b/c of your DD's carseat). And even lounging was not the most comfortable thing-- and that trip was only 6 hours. Not sure how comfy you would be for the drive to WDW for even longer than that.

And as a sidebar comment-- my DD was born less than 10 days after I returned-- 2.5 weeks early. Who knows if the travel accelereated anything!

When we took out son for the first time in Sept. 2004 I was just newly pregnent (didn't know it at the time). Then I went back in Jan. 2005 at 4 months. I was having contractions and my dr. said if I wanted to go I had to use a wheelchair. I am sorry to say that there were people that were not very nice to me! I got rude comments and dirty looks (I know- shocking!) when I went in the "speical" line. Could not go on rides, just shows. The Cast Members were wonderful! Then 4 weeks after returning home I went into the hospital for 3 months. I realize that I did not have a "normal" pregnancy. I would never go to WDW when pregnent again. Wait for awhile. It is pretty hot in Sept. too................
