Start at the Disney Weddings Website CLICK HERE

As far as Disney is concerned, a vow renewal is essentially the same thing as a wedding except the licensing part (they will ask for a copy of your wedding license) and the vows you would say.

You will choose whether an intimate vow renewal or a custom...and the easiest way to describe the main difference is the number of guests you plan to have. More than 18 (excluding the bride and groom), and it's a custom. Less than 18 and it's an intimate. However, I'm sure you *could* have a custom for a smaller number of guests, then you would only need to meet the minimum cost requirement (starts at $10,000).

The website will give you some basic ideas...then you can come back here for more information about the specifics!

Good luck and Happy planning!!

thanks! Can you all tell me more about your weddings?

hiya
we had an intimate at the wedding pavilion in november 2005. we had 9 people including us, just a small family affair. the ceremony was at 2pm at the wedding pavilion, then we went over to the grand floridian for our champagne reception and photos. we went for dinner to chef mickeys at 5.30, then did a wishes cruise in the evening. we did the magic kingdom photo shoot 2 days later. the link to my photos is in my signature
hope that helps

My wedding was *technically* a vow renewal. We were officially married here at home four days before our Disney wedding. The biggest reason for that was it was cheaper to get a license here than in Orlando.

We had an intimate ceremony at Sea Breeze Point. It was just DH and me, and more on the casual side. We had Rev. Kevin Knox as our officiant, and wrote our own vows.

We basically had the "off the rack" intimate wedding package. The only thing I added was an extra bottle of cuvee/champagne (which we shared on our first anniversary) and I pre-purchased the proofs of our photos for $225 (the price may have gone up by now). I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND pre-purchasing the proofs if you use Disney Photo Services.

We had dinner later that evening at California Grill (a HUGE disappointment for us...just totally not our style) and we used our 4 hour limo service later in the week for a trip to Downtown Disney.

You can see a few of our wedding pics HERE.

Let us know if you have any other questions!!! Everyone here will have lots of advice about different options and everything!

We're having a VR in Dec and started by looking at Disney weddings official site and starting a wishbook. Here is a great place for more detailed info on just about anything you can think of related to Disney weddings/VR (Disney treats a VR exactly the same as a wedding - the price, services etc).
I would suggest yu check out their site, start a wishbook and compile a list of questions, then come back here and either search for previous questions that have been answered or post a new question.
Have fun, and don't be afraid to ask!
