Disney Wedding Elopement

Why not? What if someone just said they were just dressing up as Cinderella, not wearing a wedding gown? Would they deny admission? Lots of little girls like to dress up as Cinderella. Maybe a grown woman would want to, also. And, a grown man may want to dress up as Prince Charming.

Why wouldn't they let you wear a wedding dress?

Clothes are clothes. As long as certain body parts are appropriately covered, why would wedding attire be prohibited anywhere?

Unless you got married at Disney World and pay the extra fee to wear your gown inside the park for a special event as part of your wedding celebration or if its Mickeys Not so Scary Halloween Party, you are not allowed to wear any type of wedding attire or fancy gowns. In fact, I have seen people with amazing costumes that are practically identical during MNSSHP that have been asked to change because people were confusing them with the company's characters. While I find it unfair for them to do this during the Halloween parties, it is their policy and they will kick you out if you do not abide. We got married at Disney World and had a Dessert Party at Epcot and if we had to pay extra on top of all the costs we had already paid in order to wear our wedding attire. Cruise rules may be different, but certainly not acceptable at Disney World.

You are not allowed to wear wedding attire in the actual parks. In fact, apart from at MNSSHP, adults are not really allowed to wear costumes into the parks. It is to avoid confusion with the 'official' characters.
However, you are perfectly entitled to wear wedding attire around the rest of the World (resorts, Boardwalk, DTD etc). I know, I have done it. We did a S & D vow renewal(so I was not an official DFTW bride) two years ago, and did a photo shoot at the Boardwalk, the GF and a TTD session at the Poly, and the only comments we got from CMs were congratulatory.

Thus, I would think it would be difficult for DCL to stop you from dressing up (particularly on formal night) in a long bridal dress and having photos taken.

We renewed our vows last May. We booked a cruise on the magic and we got off at Nassau and headed to a beach where I had hired a pastor and photographer (total $500). It was gorgeous!!! Both before and after our ceremony, we walked around the ship in our wedding attire and took pics and no one batted an eye. I used my own DSLR camera for the pics around the ship. Have fun!!

Would you be willing to share who you used? I tried pm'ing you but it wouldn't go through.

You can always check and see if you could set something up in one of your ports of call. You may be able to do this at a resort for a minimum amount, then explain to family that you were married in the states to alleviate any legality issues that can arise with an out of country marriage.

For people who think that Disney is being over the top/silly with their restrictions on adults wearing costumes, think about it this way:

Children go up to the costumed characters, hug them, trust them. All a pedophile would need is a costume and s/he could molest to his/her heart's content at the park. It's sad that it has to be considered, but it does.

My engagement and wedding photographers took photos of a couple ok the cruise in wedding attire, doing a 'trash the dress' on CC. From what I remember, they were not wed on the cruise or CC. So, you can wear your attire. As far as DISNEY's photogs doing your photos, that may be where they draw the line, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

As far as your vow exchange, nothing says you need to set up a special event for it. If you don't have anyone perform it and it doesn't have to be legal (since you are already married), why not just pick a time and place to do it. Make some friends or take some friends to capture this moment. Or... Find out how much it would cost to being my photographers aboard, David and Vicki Arndt. They have a handful of cruises booked for photography alone... Worth a shot

Sure! Not sure I'm allowed to post but I used the Island Preacha and Tim Aylen photography in nassau. Both have websites and both were AMAZING.

Grown ups, adults, are not allowed to dress in costume at the parks. The only exception is MNSSHP. They will deny you access if you are dressed in costume.
But the OP asked about DCL. Not the parks. Adults are allowed (and encouraged on Pirate's night!) to dress up on the ships.

Oh, and it's Shutters photographers on the cruise, not Photopass.
