Disney web cams, why are they gone?

Disney used to have several web cams located throughout the parks ~ but it seems they have all been removed. Does anyone know why?

And if there are still live cams, does anyone have an addy for them?

They have been gone for some time. I don't know who decided to disconnect them, but I miss being able to get my disney fix.

there was a thread somewhere about a CM saying it was for security, so terrorists could not have a visual of the parks to help planning. Don't know if this is truly the case.

I wish people would stop using 9-11 as an excuse for everything. These cameras froze 5/25/01 - long before 9-11. A time delayed webcam isn't going to help a terrorist in any way.

Let's be truthful - this was the real reason - "cost cutting."

A part of me wishes they would just kill that website with the frozen cams. Cams that haven't been updated in over 2 years just screams out "Bad Show".

Sorry, but I really enjoyed that little bit of a "Disney fix" each day!

Thanks everybody How sad they had to turn them off for whatever reason. I remember how much fun they were to watch every now and then. DebbieB & UncleScrooge338, thanks for sharing those links with me. I agree that the "still" one is kind of useless
