This is our first trip to Disneyworld. We plan on doing both water parks. I was wondering what kind of stuff is safe to leave out on the chairs. Do most of you leave your towels, shoes, extra clothing there? I would never leave $ or anything but what about everything else. Would our 4 yr old need a life jacket? Can you bring your own if so?

I would not leave out anything I really cared about losing. I'll usually leave a towel, pool shoes, a book and a tote bag and haven't lost anything yet.

I believe BB has life jackets available for little kids. I'm not sure, though. Someone who travels with kids might know better.

We take the bare minimum to the parks, rent a locker for extra clothing, and leave sandals, suntan lotion, goggles for kids, towels, etc. and nothing has ever been stolen. If you want a lawn chair get to the parks early.

If you can live without a locker, it will allow you to get to things faster when you get to the water parks. We like to get there at opening, do the "must-do's" (Shark Reef at TL and Teamboat Springs at BB) a couple of times each before the crowds gather. If you don't have to stand in line for a locker, you can't do that.

I use a water-proof wallet to put my room key / charge card in and my car key. (We always drive to the water parks so we won't have to take Disney transportation while we're dripping dry!) Otherwise, there's not much else that I take that I couldn't stand to lose. (I take a disposable underwater camera with me, but it pretty much stays tied around my wrist. No one has ever taken it, though, even when I left it in my bag. I guess no one ever wanted to develop MY pictures.) But towels, water shoes, sunscreen, water bottles, etc. seem pretty safe.

Have a great time!!!

Ditto previous posters...we leave clothes, shoes, "stuff", etc. and haven't lost anything. I too carry a waterproof necklace box thingy with our cash and passes and I carry a waterproof camera all day on every ride no problem. My DD got a lifevest for the day for free and we just dropped it off as we left. Have a blast!!

I am not a big lover of the watervests there just because I think they are bulky and hot for a kid to wear. I bring blow-up arm floats for my DD (a couple in case one deflates) and they work perfectly.

I also concure w/ the other posts about leaving things by the chair.

Have a swell time:wave:

Does anyone know where I can get a waterproof wallet type of thing for our money and room keys?

They sell the waterproof thing for around your neck at the water parks. I think I even bought one at walmart. I know for sure they are at the waterparks because I bought one there.

Where are you in Texas? (I used to live in Austin.) It's a great, big place, I know, but on the off chance that you're in Central Texas, last time I was at Schlitterbahn (in New Braunfels) they sold the neck wallets there.

If you're not, you can find them on the web. (I think I got mind at a surf shop out of California, but I don't have the website. Just run a search under waterproof and containers, etc.)

Thanks for all the help. I'm from the panhandle so I'll check online for the waterproof containers or just wait until I get there.

At TL last May, I bought our necklace at a kiosk just inside the park for about $6....several sizes to choose from, and mine was one of the largest choices I believe. I still have it and use it at the local parks!
