We are going to Disney during the 1st week of December with me, dh, ds6, ds4, ds4months. We went last year and took our Joovy Ultralight Sit and Stand stroller for the oldest two. My question is, with an infant who will be only 14 weeks old, would you use the car seat in the stroller? If I use it in the Joovy, then the seat will need to be reclined so less room for the person standing.

Also, should I take 2 strollers - the sit and stand for the two older boys and a full single stroller for the infant?

Just wondering what others do with an infant! Two strollers would be nice to have, but it could be a hassle.

Thanks for your help!:goodvibes

For a baby that young, I would use a single stroller that allows the baby room to stretch out, lay flat and move around. Our childbirth educator said that babies should only be in a carseat carrier for up to one hour at a time because they need to move and keep bloodflow circulating. The theory makes sense to me. I can't imagine a baby being very comfy in one of those carseats all day long.

Hi, I havn't posted on here in ages but couldn't resist. I would look into a good carrier for your youngest. Look into a carrier you can wear in a front carry or a back carry, like a Beco Butterfly or an Ergo. They are a bit expensive but have very good resale value. You can sometimes find them on ebay, or you could check out the for sale or trade thread at thebabywearer.com. I would avoid most comercial carriers like a bjorn cause they get way uncomfortable after a bit. And you can put a baby that small on your back in the right carrier. I carry my 6 mo old around in a carrier a good chunck of our day, she sleeps great and loves to look around. Then you can have the stroller for you older kids, and put baby in if if needed. Good luck and enjoy!

Oh, also having baby on you make trips in and out of things much quicker for you, no trying to get baby in and out of a stroller, or a stroller in and out of tight areas. You can even keep baby attatched right to you during some of the rides. And you have 2 free hands to round up the other kiddos, eat and ice cream ets =)

My kids are 4 and 6, but we took our 4 year old when she was 3 mo old. We did two strollers. I still say it was one of the best times. My son had a blast due to him being 2 and it was all about the him.

We just went with our three dds who were 5.5, 3.5 and 5mo in April. We took a single double stroller and my slings. Dd3 was in a sling 90% of the time. The big girls were in the stroller or if dd1 was walking, I would occasionally take a break and put dd3 in the stroller with dd2.
I used a Connecta Solarweave and loved it. It has a hood and the fabric has SPF built in. It is very light weight, and I was comfortable walking all of those miles everyday carrying her. I would also concur that a Baby Bjorn would be uncomfortable for that many hours at Disney. Invest in a good carrier, it's worth it.

I wouldn't have wanted to get on and off the buses with two strollers and an infant that needs to be carried. It was hard enough to have two kids to get on the bus, dh folding up the double stroller, and have me carrying the baby and the bag on the bus. If you are driving it may be easier with two strollers, but the buses would be tough even with two kids on their feet.

It was a great trip, but man it was a lot of work. We are looking forward to a few years from now when at least the older two are out of strollers.

We were almost exactly like you - we went in late March with DS(5), DS(3), and DD (5 months). It was so great. I was so nervous about taking a baby - but it was super easy.

We decided to take DD's Graco stroller on the bus (we stayed at French Quarter). The boys squished into a double stroller. I took our Bjorn - it was a lifesaver on rides and in lines.

Good luck and just enjoy!

Thanks for responding! We have a baby bjorn and I actually LOVE it. We are definitely taking it with us especially for rides. I probably shouldn't keep the baby in the car seat in the stroller. Now I guess I'm trying to decide whether to take our sit and stand for the older kids (because the seat doesn't fold down for a baby to sleep) and then a full single stroller for the baby. OR I looked online at the Orlando Stroller Rental and they had a side by side double stroller that has full reclining seats but knowing my husband, he won't be up to paying $85 for a stroller rental!

Good thing I have until December to decide!!!:thumbsup2

Wow, you sound almost identical to us two years ago. We went with DS, then 2 1/2 and DS 4 months. We also went the first week of December. We brought our Graco Metrolite single and our Bjorn. My husband and I would alternate carrying our 4 month old in the Bjorn. As; I'm sure you remember, not alot of places in the world let you bring your stroller in. The Bjorn was a lifesaver for these times. We would also let our oldest walk around while we let the baby nap in the stroller. I know most TS restaurants would let us take the stroller inside if the baby was sleeping in it. So I guess what I am saying is bring your stroller and bjorn ;).
