Disney vs. RCCL

then there's the other experience when we were in port with the Wonder. At 1st it was kinda cool because the Mariner just towers above the Wonder BUT
I must say when the Wonder sounded the horn, I WANTED TO CHANGE SHIPS!!!:sad2:

I am a little nervous as I have not been on an RCCL cruise for 4 years. Before that I LOVED my RCCL cruises.
My 2 DCL cruises were nice but were made better by the people I cruised with and not the ship itself.
I will cruise RCCL for next year for 12 days in Western Mediterrean so keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you for this well written review. My husband and I are researching cruises and appreciate very much your insight. :thumbsup2

If you booked early then the price dropped and you will get refund money back, just like you mentioned that 260.00 then 140.00, are they refund you?

because we booked it for 2011 as plenty time ahead for it and wonder if we get refund if the price go down or not?

thanks for your comment

We put the deposit down while on the ship.......then over the year, we would pay a little on it. We always paid with our American Express. They have just been crediting our American Express.

I would just periodically check the website for my category room (N).:surfweb:

That same with Dreams Unlimited what we do for Disney Cruise..

but I booked through UK RCCI and I don't think that they have it...I will email them and find out if they do that or not... I think 8 weeks before sailing dates full balance after paying the deposit....

I will double check.... but I mean if I booked it then the price go down, will I get refund or not??

Thanks for the reviews of RCCL. We are taking our first Disney cruise this December. I have already started looking into the extended cruise package with Universal/ RCCL. We will stay at Hard Rock Hotel and spend 7 nights aboard Freedom of the Seas and do a Western cruise.

I have taken a Carnival Cruise and loved that. The food was delicious and activites splentiful....

I think I will love all the cruises, each with their special ways!!!!

Happy Sailing!!!!:santa:

I just go to www.royalcaribbean.com

Then I pick the month, port, ship, and destination from the pull down menu. I find our ship and the dates.....like I was booking for the first time. I find the category room that we are in....and check the price. If it has gone down, I call and tell them that the online price is lower for my 6/21 cruise.....they check it out........change my rate......credit my AMX and then send me a confirmation via email.:yay:

Our 2nd RCCL cruise was excellent food was a complete turnaround, every meal was very good, we also got two price breaks and saved $940 off the price.

We have a third cruise scheduled on the Explorer 11/29/09 and this 12 day cruise is costing $2.258 for the two of us. Expect to get at least one price reduction and we also got $200 OBC.

I just priced a Baltic Capital 12 day cruise on the Magic and for the two of us with airfare is $11,479 I was horrified, is DCL crazy! The same cruise on RCCL is $4,224.68 $7K price difference is just out of sight, I believe DCL is a better experience but not $7K

I'd like to take the family on a DCL cruise when the new ship comes out in 2011 but wonder if it will make $ sense.

Our daughter is expecting in July and our youngest grandson is 2 and has been on two cruises one on Princess & the Panama repro last August.

Sad to not be able to cruise DCL because of the crazy pricing. I'm afraid to check pricing for 10 people.

Hi

Aye, I know, we booked the Baltic Cruise too then we realised that we cannot afford it as the pound for dollars exchange were not good at the moment...so we cancel it and changed over to Dover to Barcelona which we can afford it....

that why we booked RCCI for my speical birthday and it is much cheaper which we can afford it... Very sad the Disney Cruise became more expensive... I want to book Dream new cruise but I got the feeling it will be very expensive....

I understand what you mean

We also had been W/B Panama Canal Cruise with Disney was awesome...

Just back yesterday from my 7th Royal Caribbean cruise - this time on Grandeur of the Seas. I have also sailed on Splendour, Jewel, Monarch (twice - out of LA and Port Canaveral), Adventure, and Explorer. My favorite ships have been Splendour, Jewel, and now Grandeur. The Voyager-class ships have a lot of bells and whistles, and I chose Adventure because my 17-year-old son was cruising with me. But I prefer the older and smaller RCI ships with an emphasis on what's outside the ship - rather than what's going on in the Royal Promenade.

I'm cruising to Alaska in 3 weeks on Princess and doing a WB Transatlantic in September on Celebrity. I told my daughters I'd take them to Europe in 2010, and DCL is WAY too pricey. I booked a 12-night British Isles cruise on Princess for about half the price of DCL's 12-night Baltic cruise.

I can't wait! We sail from Port Canaveral in 47 days!!!!!!!

Ah, I didn't realised that you live in Florida, Tampa

I had been there long times ago, it is beautiful beach....clearwater beach... Oh dear, I cannot remember if right spelling... anyway it was so beautiful place....

That is why it is not far from Cape Canveral....

Enjoy it... and please write trip report...:thumbsup2 or drop hint about it...

I was shocking that FOS is filling in for April 2011 as I cannot get cabin as I igot one beside hump... I hope I get better one later....

A Lady asked the question for Grandeur of the Seas? Where did you sailing from?

Her question here:

"We are thinking of doing a 5 day cruise with RCI in January.

Has anyone sailed on Granduer of the Seas before ?.

Also has anyone sailed out of Tampa port before ?. Wanted to know if we would be best to take our hire car to the airport and then take a shuttle/taxi to the Port ?.

Sorry for all the questions have only cruised out of Port Canaveral with Disney before."

Can you help?

I was on a repositioning cruise on Grandeur of the Seas from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Norfolk, Virginia. The previous week, the ship went from Tampa to San Juan. The ship is lovely, even though it isn't one of the newer RCI ships.

I cruised out of Tampa in 2005 on a different Royal Caribbean ship, and it was a pretty easy (about 90 minutes) drive from WDW to the port. I dropped off my rental car at the Tampa airport, and the rental car company (National, I think) had a free shuttle to the port.

Just finding out they do not have laundry facilities on RCCL :scared1::scared1::scared1:. I do not know what I am going to do???? I always iron before dinner and always wash all of our clothes night 5. I just do not like taking dirty clothes home. They have told me you can send your laundry to service, but I do not want someone else washing our undies.... So I am learning as I research.... So I will have to pay for the clubs after dinner and can not wash or iron my laundry...:sad2: Anything else I need to know guys?:confused3
