We've been on 11 Disney cruises. We have done several cruises on Carnival also. We were on the Carnival Dream last summer. We had a great cruise. We have two boys 13 and 7. They both had a great time. The older one didn't go to his club. The younger one went to the club and loved it. They did sand art, edible sand art, spin art, etc. We were on the MV of the Disney Dream and I have to admit that the food was better on the Carnival Dream. Carnival Dream served lobster tail on formal night, Disney Dream offered a medallion of lobster on top of filet in Royal Palace.

On our last cruise with CCL, it was nothing like what people claim it is like, great environment, no "drunken people falling off the ship" or anything remotely close. In all honesty we felt the adults & children were much better behaved on CCL than we have seen on DCL, especially the teenagers
. As for food that is subjective, everyone has their own opinion about it and IMO we found the food on the Liberty to be a step above what we have had in the past on DCL, with the exception of Palo, but CCL's steakhouse was PHENOMENAL! Service was wonderful on CCL as well......have you even cruised DCL to be making a comparison of the two???
When it was 17 of us on the Wonder for 10-Nights in 2006 we all sat at one table every night with no problems. And the food on the Fantasy was mediocre at best. Again, my opinion at the age of 14

We booked this cruise due to the ports of call unfortuantley due to weather we were not able to go to Grand Turk. My kids even loved doing tea time on the ship. They don't drink tea but the loved the desserts. We are now looking to book our next cruise. We think we are going to do the 3 day on the dream just to check out ship. We won't get off at Nassua as we have been there twice already. I actually have a girls trip booked on Carnival's Destiny in March for 4 nights. Give me a lounge chair, a fruity drink, and some food and I will be happy, even if the ship is old. I guess my point is once you make a decision on what to book just have the mind set that you are going to have fun no matter what. I was so upset that we didn't get to go to Grand Turk as that is the main reason I picked the Fantasy. So instead I watched the ship out run the storm and did a scavenger hunt around the ship with my kids. We had a blast. Oh and I have to say the people on the cruise ship were the nicest people we have met. We were swimming at Half Moon Cay and a bunch of adults walked by and said hi to my son. I asked how they knew my son and they said they had a nice conversation with him in the pool. They asked my son if he was a Yankee since he didn't have an accent and he said no I am a Buckeye. They said they never laughed so hard in their life. We truly had a great cruise with lots of memories and I can't for our next one. May you have a magical cruise.
