Hi all,
Just got back from Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN. Great music festival. Just wanted to share some thoughts about Bonnaroo prices vs. Disney prices.
Chicken Burrito and glass of lemonade-$15
Slice of Pizza and drink-$10
Fruit Smoothie-$6
7 lb. bag of ice-$3.50
Shower (sponsored by Garnier Fructis)-$7
Fill your RV with water-$50
Dump your RV-$50
Taxi ride (golf carts that circulate the campgrounds-$5 per trip anywhere you want to go on grounds.
Now to the General Store where you can get supplies, this is a Bonnaroo sponsored store:
Joy dishwashing liquid-medium size bottle-$7
1 lb bottle of propane-$18
Pack of cigarettes-$15
Case of beer (not sure of size, just heard this, maybe 24 pack?)-$80!
Now doesn't that make Disney prices look better?
If you go, be prepared to be less than 'FW comfortable'. Tent camping you are allowed the area behind your car, you step over your neighbor to get anywhere. RV parking, slightly more room and if you get there early not too far from the main gates (we were about 10-15 minute walk). There are no hookups, you will need a generator if you want power. You can also 'no car' tent camp, you have to carry your stuff from your car, you are not allowed to drive it there. These folks did not look too happy dragging their stuff by the camper on their way there, but it is right next to the main gates.
If you get there late and tent camp or RV camp, you can have up to an hour walk or more to get to the main gates.
Heat index was well over 100 degrees each day.
It was a great festival and lots of fun, I've never seen a nicer bunch of staff and kids attending, everyone cooperates and helps each other. Orderly lines for everything (for the most part). I highly recommend it for the 'adventurous' music lover but it is not for the faint of heart!
Long post but thought you folks would feel better getting your wallet out on your next Disney trip.
