I just called a couple days ago and applied for the disney visa. I didn't know that there was a special code for the $50 bonus. What is the code and do you guys know if I can still add it if I am approved? I haven't received a response yet and I am thinking that they are going to deny me anyhow because I don't have any income that I can prove. I babysit kids, but get paid cash. So we will probably just apply again in husband's name instead. I plan on using the card for christmas and for grocery shopping. But we already have this money in our budget so it will get paid off every month. Do reward points add up quick or does it take a while to accumilate them? I am going to WDW in January but we were hoping to save them for our next trip in 3-4 years. Sorry this is long and I am rambling on but I really don't know anything about this card. Any help would be appreciated. TIA

My daughter was denied. She works seasonally and makes very good money in the summer. Less to none in the winter. No credit history.

You can go ahead and apply in your husband's name. You can always cancel yours if you decide you don't want it. I was one of the original holders of these cards (when they only gave you a pin for applying) but my DH recently got his own.

At least you might have the $50 bonus reward for January. Be aware that these rewards do expire. I don't recall how long they are good for. I'd have to check one of my bills.

If you are approved, the bonus points probably won't be applied after the fact. The offer changed the day after I applied and I was only offered the origional offer; they wouldn't "upgrade" me to the better deal. If you applied and listed your total household income(what they ask for, I think) then you probably would be approved. I don't work either since I'm a stay at home mom, but had no trouble.

I did the same thing--forgot to give the code for the $50 rewards because I was asking so many questions. I called back and after talking to 3 different people, I was told that the number I called meant that I would automatically be given the $50 rewards. I called the number at this website: www.50disneyrewards.com. There are different incentives and different numbers to call. I would still call back just to make sure that they are aware of the situation. I'm a stay-at-home mom, but I ordered a card in my husband's name also and used our household income.

Do you have another Bank One Visa? I called recently and had the credit limit reduced on my other Visa and raised on my Disney Visa. The rewards don't add up that fast. I put everything on my Visa, so I should get about $20-$25 a month and more on months where we buy big ticket items. The $50 rewards helps a lot because you would have to spend $5,000 just to get that.

You have 5 years before the rewards you accumulate expire, but after you call and have them issue you a rewards card, the rewards card expires in 1-2 years. I think they tell you to order your rewards card 3-4 weeks in advance, but people have posted getting their rewards card in less than 2 weeks and being able to pick it up at Guest Services in WDW.
