Does anyone have a Disney Visa that can tell me about the rewards points?
How many points do you earn per dollar, and how many points you need to really get a good discount on hotel and such?
I was on the websight but I can not find this info.
Thanks for all your help....

You get one point per $100 you charge to the card...and each point equals $1.00 in rewards that you can later transfer to a Disney Rewards "Gift Card" that you can use to buy Disney tickets and Disney merchandise and food at select places in the parks. So you basically are earning 1% of your purchases back in Disney cash (although I've noticed they round your points up each month...for example, if you charge $651 to your card one month, they don't give you $6.51 in rewards dollars...they give you $7.00).

I'm also told by people on Disboards, that the actual list of places in Disneyland that you can spend your rewards dollars on is longer than the brief list that visa lists on their website...you can basically use it about anywhere in the parks that take credit cards (hope that's true).

One thing to remember is that they points you are earning on your visa don't seem to expire for about five years. However, once you transfer some points over to a rewards gift card, that card expires sooner (I think within a year, or at the end of that year). So, don't transfer points over a couple years before you plan on spending them.

wow is it just me or is 1 per 100 not all that much....i try not to charge much ....
I was unable to find a list on the websight, could you send me a link?
Thanks....

On the left are other perks.
1% is pretty common for rewards cards. I use mine for most anything I can and just make sure I pay it off every month - so groceries etc - and it can add up. Sometimes they'll send you a code in an email or regular mail where you can sign up and get more - up to 5% -- usually in special categories and only if you spend more than a certain threshold amount per month - like '$500 on travel'.
Re the hotel discounts - you'll just get an email every once in a while offering a discount that's exclusive to rewards members or sometimes just an advance purchase period for discounts before they're offered to the public. I don't think it's based on use although who can tell?

If I fall in love with Disneyland when we go in November, I was thinking of signing up for the Disney Visa, too. We live close enough to easily go once or twice a year, but I was concerned about how quickly the rewards points expired. Is it really five years?

I just go my most recent statement, and it says the points I earned in September expire in 2016.

As a previous poster mentioned, they sometimes offer other bonuses that go beyond the usual 1%. Earlier this year there was a three month period where they gave 3% on anything you charged after you reached $1,000 that month.

I just got the Disney Visa because they offered me $200 reward dollars for signing up. We are going to Disneyland in a couple of weeks so it was worth it! Since I got the card a few months ago, I've just charged pretty much everything I buy for the rewards and then pay it off immediately. We will have a few hundred Disney dollars to spend in the park so I figure that covers food. Not bad!
