I am looking for some opinions. Is the Disney visa worth it? and what are the big perks?:)

I don't know first hand, but DH looked at the card info (interest rate, perks, terms of service) and said absolutely no way.

I didn't think to ask him why his opinion was that though.

We have one but rarely use it any more. We don't really care about the interest rate because we tend to be "deadbeats" that pay our bill off every month. The benefit is you get points for every dollar you spend and they do periodically give you bonus points, say, for every dollar over $500 you spend on groceries and gas, you get double points... but more you tend to spend on a monthly basis, the higher the threshold gets. So we started getting offers in the mail that we had to spend thousands of dollars to get the extra bonus points. We stopped using the DV card as it wasn't as advantageous and now basically use another car that we earn airline miles on instead. Also Disney Visa card members used to be invited to free pre-screenings of movies but I don't think they have been doing that in quite a while. They also used to give cardholders a free character greet photo at DCA in California, and a free daily stroller rental at DL/DCA (california only). I haven't looked at their site in a while to see what deals they are offering right now. You might also post on the budget board and get more responses on this topic.

hth!

i have it

i like the rewards(points) & you can use it at the parks!!!

I got a free $15GC when i signed up & 0% for 6mths then it is going to 11% which isnt great, but what card is lately??

sometimes they have special offers exclusively for card holders too:goodvibes

I just looked into it and it's definitely NOT worth it.

The basic benefits are:
- $15 gift card (many CC's will give you a $50 gift card or equivalent)
- What amounts to 1% cash back...but you can only spend at Disney. (many cards will give 2% cash back that you can spend anywhere you want)
- Has the special photo session....might be worth it for some people.

We have a Disney Visa. We don't use it for regular purchases b/c we have a card w/ better incentives, but when we signed up for it, we each got a $50 Disney Gift Card that we were able to use on one of our trips and if you use it at the World of Disney store in DTD, you get 10% off your purchase. This can add up to a lot of money if you end up buying a few princess dresses, etc...:)

We have it and we like it. We can use the dollars to pay for our tickets into the park. I use it for pretty much everything...we also pay off our bill every month. So, it's pretty much like getting into Disney parks for nothing! It's worth it to me!

We have it but have found the rewards on our capital one card to be better.

I have one...and use it when I know I'm going to be booking a trip, so as to use the rewards points. You can pay it off in full each month. I don't use it for little things, but bigger purchases when I have to use a card..this way I at least get to use the points on a Rewards card. Last year I gave the card to my son to use for spending money during the trip. I mean if I can't put something on American Express(not every merchant accepts it), then I will use the Disney Visa if I'm going to use a card. By the way..I also called and they lowered my rate. Since I told them there was no way I'd be using it otherwise. :thumbsup2 I mainly got it because twice we used it for a discounted package code, before it was available to the public.

I use my card for everything. I end up having enough reward dollars to pay off the resort. THere are times when i have enough rewards to pay off the resort and also use it for spending money.

If you pay it off every month like I do its like Disney is giving you free money so why not get one. I have about $200 to use for my August drip.

We have 2 of them. I made a payment late by one day and they raised my interest rate to almost 30%. For being one day late. We ended up closing them.
