Does anyone know what restaurants you can use the disney visa rewards at? I was wondering if you can use them at all of the restaurants at downtown disney or on the boardwalk? I also wanted to know if you can use them at the counter service in the parks? When do they expire?

You can them anywhere that credit cards are accepted. So that means everywhere but the mobile food vending carts. The other thing is that it must be a Disney Owned restaurant, so Wolf Gang or Rainforest would likely be out, as any others that are not Disney owned.

When do they expire?

If you don't transfer them to your rewards card, they expire 5 years after you earned them. Once transferred to your rewards card, they expire the end of the year following the year you had them transfered. ~:)~

We just received a letter in the mail from Chase stating that reward dollars will now expire 24 months after the month they were earned, starting with the Jan 05 statement.

I don't remember getting this letter. huh.

Anyway the way to get around this is to get the rewards card and buy Disney Dollars. That is if you have a Disney Store near you. And of course they have them in stock to sell.

Does this mean that disney dollars do not expire. Also, can you use dollars to pay resort balances? :rotfl:

Yes, you can use them to pay off resort balances if it's a Disney resort.

Also, some of the vending carts do accept resort room cards, so you can give your rewards card when you check in, charge the Mickey bars (!)to your room, and the balance will come from the rewards card first.

When we stayed at BWV in Jan 05, we asked if we could put our dollars down on the room when we checked in. They would not let us put them down initially but asked us to come back to guest services when we had enough charges built up and "make a payment". A little inconvenient but still easy to do.

Disney Dollars are basically Disney Currency. So they will never expire. They are good for anything you can pay cash for.

So does that mean everything I acquired prior to January 05 will now expire in January 07?

Another question (I've never understood this part anyway)......once bucks are transferred to a new card, to be used, they start over with a new expirartion (December a year later). In other words, if you transfer bucks just as they were about to expire on your account, they are extended on your card? (I hope this makes sense)

Now that it only has a two year expiration, I don't know if I'll keep my card past my December 2005 trip. That's one of the reasons I liked the card.....I could build up savings over a long time period.

We just went to Disney in Feb. 05 and used all the rewards we had earned up to that point. On the bill I got last week, it shows that since that time we have earned 20 reward dollars that will expire 02/2010, that's still 5 years. So check your statements. ~:)~

The letter that we received from Chase is very vague. The letter was dated April 15 and we received it on April 23.

Also stated is that the monthly billing statement will show the pts that are about to expire. If you have pts that will expire in Mar or Apr2005, these will be credited back to the account and will be reflected on a future statement.

I think that a previous post has the right idea, redeem your points prior to the expiration and convert to Disney Dollars that have no expiration.

One of the many changes that we may see with the conversion from Bank One to Chase. ::MickeyMo

How do I know if a restaurant is owned by disney. We are thinking of eating at ESPN. I think we can eat at beaches n cream.
