We're going to WDW in a month! So excited.

I'd like to wait until after my next Visa statement to order my reward dollars because I'll have another $20 or so. My statement closing date will be 10/3. We're flying out on 10/24. If I place my order for the reward dollars on 10/4, will I get them in time? The brochure says to allow 2 weeks, but what has been happening in practice?

Also, is it better to order by telephone or to do it on line.

Many thanks!

Most everyone has been receiving them within a week, so I would think you'd have enough time.

I have requested Disney Visa rewards twice. First, the kind spendable at the Disney Stores, brought Park Hopper Tickets. Second, Disney Reward Dollars, useable at WDW. Just got back from WDW last week and used these for a nice luncheon and to pruchase a gift for my newphew. Ordered by phone both times. They arrived within 10 days. My statement closes the 10/3 and I am calling to check on the new points posted to our account. We are going to WDW on 11/1 and want to get the rewards with time to spare. It seems to take forever to get my statement, so I never wait till it comes to order Dream Rewards. Hope this helps.

They now have a new program to get your rewards. Disney Visa is going to start giving out a "credit card" with your points on it. The program starts 10/1 and we leave to Disney 10/2. I was told to go to guest relations at DD to get one of the cards, then call the 800 # on the back of my Disney cc and they can trans the points just like that so I can use them on my vacation. And I belive it wont have to be in increments of $10, they can trans all your points.

I was just coming to post about this. I was out looking on their website for the phone # to call to redeem (for my brother), and opened up the pdf for the program details--it had all about the new program. But there's no other info anywhere on the site yet, that I could find. I also found the original pdf on the site, too--depends which link you click on to get the file. I printed both of them out, just to prove to myself that I wasn't crazy.

I haven't read through the details yet, but it looks like you still need 20 DDRD before you can request the card. It says the card takes 2-3 weeks to arrive. But it does say that points can be loaded onto your card within minutes after calling BankOne or going online. The card is reloadable, so don't throw it away. It is called the "Disney Reward Cards."

It looks like you'll no longer have to choose between the three "places" for redemption.

Guess I need to sit down and read through the guide. I'll probably be at the Disney Store tomorrow--taking advantage of the double points offer that is good until October 11. Maybe I'll see if they know anything about it.

If anyone else finds anything out, let us know. Please! :)

we have a disney rewards card also, used this card to purchase a cruise in september. was to get 6 months same as cash on the purchase of the disney cruise. well here it is october and the finance charge has arrived, we called they said that the payment from last month paid off the cruise and the remainder was from a purchase in august.
use with caution

I should get my card in the mail on Monday - does anyone know if I still get my rewards if I put my cruise on the card and then transfer the balance to my Miles One card to get miles???

thanks.

Just back from our trip and getting and using our card was sooo easy.
We went to guest relations at DD asked for the rewards card. The lady gave us the card and they had phones right there for you to call Bank One to get it activated. Our reward dollars were put right on and we ate lunch at CP 2 hours later and used our rewards towards our meal. I had 48 reward dollars on the card and 20 in certs--no problems using either one!!

Thanks for the info! Glad you had a great trip! ::MickeyMo :wave2:

My biggest question at this point (I just ordered my card today - and I hope it arrives before I leave in 3 weeks)... can I take the card to the Disney store and purchase Disney Dollars?

Im not sure if you can purchase Disney Dollars with rewards but you shouldnt really need to since the reward dollars work pretty much the same.

No, you cannot purchase Disney Dollars with DDRD - you can't exchange them for anything that's a cash equivalent.

My mom requested her card on October 1st and it arrived yesterday, October 10th. It expires on 12/2004.

And as others have said, I don't think you can use it to get Disney Dollars, but you shouldn't need to since it works pretty much the same way (at the same places) as DD.

Unfortunately that's how most, if not all credit card offers work. For instance...

Say that you have a CC that has a $1000 balance at 10% interest. They offer you a transfer with 0% interest (or any rate for that matter that is lower than 10%) for a certain period of time. If you don't pay the old balance off before you make the transfer, then the vast majority of any payment you make will be applied to the lower rate balance.

Because you had an outstanding balance, your payment was applied to that balance with the lowest rate first. It would be nice if they told you this upfront, in print large enough to see, but they don't.
