Disney Visa/Rewards question

I am sure this has been asked before but I wanted to ask...
I am new to Disney Visa and rewards. I wanteded to know if I can use my rewards $'s to pay off part of my KTTW rooms charges? What about tips etc in restaurants can I do this with it? By the time we go in may I should have built up a fair amount.

Basically any info on WDW spending rewards would be helpful

Yes and yes.

For room charges, I would just make sure that they don't automatically put it on your cc (the one that they ask for when you check in). When we checked in, I requested no room charge privileges, and then we just used the Reward card for everything until it was gone (and then used cash or cc).

We used the Reward card for tips and any and all purchases (gifts, beer/wine, food, etc.) There might have been a handful of places that didn't take the card, and these were usually food stands (I think some of them will only take cash, not Reward card, room card, or dining plan).

Another idea is to use your Reward balance to pay off your package/room charge. I haven't done this, but it is another way to go.

Oh good. My plan is to have the KTTW card set up with charging but then maybe bring my rewards with me to pay off as much stuff as I can and then have the back up KTTW card if certain places won't take Rewards

you can apply your rewards card to your room account when you check in, essentially starting you out with a negative balance on your account. You will still need to leave cc on file for charging in case you charge more than your rewards credit. I prefer to charge everything on the KTTW card so I can get a printout at the end with all the charges in one place.
