If I get the rewards card now and keep earning points till our up coming trip, can I transfer rewards to the card I already have? And how long does the transfer take if you can do that?

Thanks, trying to get ready for our trip!!

You need 20 points to order the card. I believe the card expires the december after the year you order it in (at least that's been my experience). Yes, you can order the card now and transfer points right before you leave. I think you have to have a min of 10 to do a transfer after you have the card.

The only warning is this - if your card expires, you lose all the points on it, so make sure you spend the points before the card expires!!!!!

I second the caution about not transferring them until you are ready to use them. After you have the initial card, they'll just sit there in the account and can be quickly transferred to the card whenever you want. One other piece of advice, don't forget to use them! We were on the free dining plan when we went last fall, and since we were not really paying for anything much, we totally forgot to use the rewards card until the last minute

I always take my rewards card to the Disney Store.
Before leaving for DL or WDW.
Buy Disney Dollars.
They never expire.
As we are using Disney Dining this time.
I have horse back riding, mini golf, water mice plans.

So true, so true. When we went last December I had 38 points to use. Well, the trip was crazy - my DS and her GS were with us and it was incredibly stressfull. I COMPLETELY forgot to use them and, yep, the card expired the end of that month. I'm still very upset about "losing" $38!!!!!

Brendita - I didn't know you could get Disney Dollars with them - that's very good to know. Thanks.

Once you get the rewards card you can transfer at any time.....they do expire but you can take the card to the disney store and get a gift card or disney dollars....I've used this card so much in the last year (food shopping/gas/xmas shopping) that I have enough to cover our entire cost of park hopper passes for 2 adults and 1 child. This card is the best.....I tell everyone to get it. You can accumulate up to $750 a year in Disney dollars. As soon as I get back from this trip, I'll start saving for the next!

My DH and I both have our own cards. When we both signed up we each received 50 points each. That's 100 pts just for signing up, plus with what we have accumulated, we have enough for 2 kids 7 day tickets. Can't beat that!!!

so dumb but never thought to get DH his own card--we too got the $50 but now have to go get another!!
Thanks for the tip
