I forgot to send in my payment and that threw off my whole rewards. I keep showing a O rewards balance. I called again today and I was told Oct 10th should be straightened out. I pay in full every month.

This happen to anyone? How was the final outcome?

I wasn't aware that payment, late or on time, had anything to do with the rewards. I thought that once the amount was charged on the card, then the rewards were available. I always pay our balance in full...but wouldn't I still have the same rewards if I made monthly payments on the balance?

If a payment is late, then your account is no longer considered to be "in good standing". Part of the requirement for being able to collect and use your rewards is that the account has to be in good standing. Disney VISA will take away those rewards immediately if a payment is late but they will restore them all once the account reverts back to being up to date. You do not have to pay the balance off in full, you only need to make the minimum payment on time in order to be considered to be in good standing.

To keep from ever having your rewards dollars disappear (and to avoid late fees), make the minimum payment online, by phone or thru your own bank when the bill arrives. You can still pay the remaining balance off in full when you write out the check and mail it later. That way, if you should mail the check too late or if it should somehow get delayed in the mail, you're still covered.

Here's how my terms and conditions read regarding late payments -

Under certain circumstances you may not be able to use or will not receive or may permanently forfeit the Disney Dream Reward Dollars in your Program Rewards Balance. For example, (a) If you are late making your minimum monthly payment for any month as indicated on your montly billing statement, the number of Disney Dream Reward Dollars you have earned that month will accrue, but will not be available to you for use and will not post to your Program Rewards Balance unless and until you pay any past due amount and pay your current minimum monthly payment by the payment due date.

(b) If you fail to make payments during two consecutive billing cycles by their due dates, all of the Disney Dream Rward Dollars relating to the Net Purchases during the billing cycles, including any Disney Dream Reward accrued and/or posed to your Program Rewards Balance through promotional offers, shall be permanently forfieted.

Looks like they've got all their bases covered regarding late payments and can take away your rewards at any time.

I was like 1 or 2 days late. Yes, I was late. But God forbid. I am always on time and always pay in full. Like 4000.00 every month. I am, redoing my kitchen and have put everyting on this bill on purpose. It has taken me 2 months to straighten it out. I leave in 45 days. I need this right now so I can make a final payment and get my rewards out..Before anyone says it... Yes, I was late..

The rewards show back up in your account after the second on-time payment. I had a check get lost in the mail, and I lost my reward points for two months; when they reappeared in my account, I immediately cashed them in, turned them into Disney Dollars and started using another credit card.

This just happened to me! I mailed a lot of school Dorney Park tickets that should have resulted in a large return to my Disney Visa card but it did not post. It should have brought my balance to an actual credit, so I assumed I did not need to make a payment. I ended up with being "late" and missed the due date. I called the 1-800 #, made a partial payment and waited for the next billing cycle. The 1-800 representative told me the exact date that I could request my a rewards card with reward dollars. I was able to call and get my reward dollars on October 3rd (I did not receive the bill in the mail until October 7th). It should take 10 business days to receive the rewards card. If you already have an open reward card the reward dollars will post immediately. I even read a post where you can go to guest services in Disney and get both the rewards card and the rewards dollars posted. You should be fine.

This JUST happened to me! I was late (2 days...oops! THE FIRST TIME!!!)

I called to get my Rewards sent, and it was explained to me that since I was late with my payment, my rewards wouldn't be available until 10/7. Since I am leaving for WDW on 10/16, that doesn't help me to get my reward card in time! (I don't have an old one)

I was told I can go to Guest Services at DTD and take care of it there. They will issue me the card, and all I have to do is call to activate it.

I always pay my full balance and on time but last month my check arrived one day after the due date. It was due on the 22nd of the month and I mailed it on the 15th which gave it a week to get from NJ to Delaware. When I went to check my account activity not only did I notice the rewards problem but I also found that Chase charged me a $34 late fee. I called CS and was able to get the fee removed as a "one time only courtesy".
I was concerned when Chase took over the Disney Visa because I have had major problems with them in the past. I never had a problem with Bank One and found them to be very customer oriented. Once I had to mail my payment from WDW the day before Hurricane Charley hit. The mail from Florida was affected and my payment arrived about a week late. Bank One never assessed a late fee or "held" my rewards. They were always pleasant to deal with and extremely helpful.
I will probably close my Disney Visa account after I transfer my next rewards and look for another rewards card. Chase is just not my type of company.

I'd recommend signing up for the online payment system. You can schedule payments ahead, I usually do it as soon as I get my statement. No worry about mailing a check and you payment is always on time.

Can I request my rewards cash out now? While my rewards says O? I didn't think about that I could cash out and than add to it next month to finalize. I might do this if I can. Thanks for everyones help.

This just happened to me too! I was two days late and I wanted to order my Disney rewards card but was told I couldn't until the next billing cycle. :guilty: I do make online payments and I made a payment however it was considered under my previous billing cycle

Ex
pd August bill 08/15
pd again on 08/31
New billing cycle starts on 09/02 (which I didn't know...I thought the billing cycle started the day after your due date)

Therefore, I was late for September because I paid too early.... :confused3

I hope they fixed that for you. I guess I can't get my rewards thing started yet. I'm gonna keep trying.

Call the 800 # on your bill and ask what date you can request your rewards dollars. They will tell you the exact date that you can do it!

I just had a problem with mine. They claimed I did not make a payment. It turns out they credited it to someone else's account because a different account number was written at the top of the canceled check. We are in the process of getting this straightened out.

Pay online or by phone and you never have to worry about being late again!
It's just as easy to forget an online/phone payment as it is to forget to mail it in! :teeth:

Actually, something screwy happened to my rewards points recently as well and I wasn't late or anything.

I got my bill and my rewards points were NEGATIVE 140. I thought I was going to pass out, I couldn't believe it. It actually showed a "Courtesy adjustment" of -180! WTH?

I called and they said there was something wrong with the system and it had happened to multiple people. So maybe they just used your payment being "late" as an excuse for the same computer problem they told me about? :dunno
