We are ordering a Disney Visa rewards card for our trip. This will be our first experience using this card. Can the card be used to purchase food (breakfast at the resort food court, or snacks in the parks)? Thanks for your help! These boards have been a great help to planning our family vacation!

I take that you have a Disney Visa already and will be redeeming your points. If that is what you mean, yes you can use your points for food purchases. You will receive a card in the mail with the value of your points on it. You then use it like a credit card and the points will be deducted as you use them. I believe your remaining balance will print on the receipt. You can also use it at stores to purchase souvenirs or whatever....

Yes. The Reward dollars can be used anywhere at the parks and resorts where they take credit cards, which is now virtually everywhere. It will defintiely be usable at the food court in your resort and for snacks in the parks.

The PPs are correct. You can use it just about anywhere for food, room charges, souvenirs, etc. There are a handful of places that do not accept it because they are not Disney-owned. But those are very rare exceptions. You can definitely use it at your resort food court and at snack stands that accept credit cards.

For those staying on property only ...

I use the Visa Reward Card as well; but I find it much easier to simply put the total dollar amount on the card toward the cost of my room when I check into my resort. That way, you have one less card to keep track of. Of course, if you have a dollar amount larger than the cost of your resort room you might want to use it in restaurants, etc.

That's what we plan to do then just charge back to the room.

We had all of our charges go on our KTTW card and then at the end of the trip we used our rewards card towards our balance. That way we only had one card to carry around.

Has anyone used it at 50's prime time? It's not listed on the website.

We used our rewards card at Sunshine Seasons and at the food court at POR.

What about for tips at restaurants? We will have around $150.00 on our rewards card and that would be a great way to "not feel" the tips! We are on the DXDP and our only cost on the trip after we pay it off is tips, gas to get there and any extras we want to buy! :) Anyone used it to pay for tips after eating on the DDP? :confused3

I didn't use the DDP, but I was able to tip the CM at Chef Mickey's using my Disney Rewards card for the meal plus the tip. Not one place (restaurant or gift shop) turned down my rewards card.
