Disney Visa rewards & DVC rental

Happy New Year!
We are seriously considering renting DVC points (from a professional 3rd party service - not from Disney) the next time we visit. My question is.... can we use our Disney Visa Reward dollars to apply toward the cost? Or because it’s a 3rd party not actually Disney, will we not be allowed to use the rewards?

No. There would be no way to convert to cash. Save your Rewards dollars for tickets or meals!

Just an FYI there is a Rent/Trade thread on this board if you haven't checked it out as another option besides brokers. Be sure you are aware of cancellation policies no matter who you rent from vs booking directly through Disney. There are still lots of unknowns... Good luck!

Just to add, DVC rentals, even when using a 3rd party, are really a private reservation between the owner and the renter,

Disney has nothing to do with it and it remains the owners until the guest checks in.

The rewards card would not be in the owners name so they would be accepting something belonging to someone else and I believe the terms and conditions mention being non transferable.

well for one thing, the dvc owner might want cash. Even if they could take renter’s rewards, those can only be spent on Disney-related things.

Maybe - it would be up to the owner.

However, many owners rent out their points in order to get cash to pay for something else that may or may not be Disney-related. A Disney GC can't be used for anything that's not Disney.

Form of payment is between owner and renter. I wouldn’t be surprised if some DVC rentals have been paid in Bitcoin, but I think it’s probably a small number.
