I need to get my Disney Visa points loaded onto a rewards card so I can use them on my next WDW trip--coming up in just 15 days! Does anyone know how long it takes them (Chase, probably?) to mail them out? I looked on the website and can't find any answers.

Or if I decide to pick them up at WDW (at Guest Relations in every park, according to the website), would that take just a few minutes? I don't want to be wasting 20 minutes of possible park time!

TIA!

The only real time it could take is if there's a line in front of you. So get to GR early!

With 15 days left I'd just get it at the park, definitely.

I've always gotten them in 5-7 business days - but I'd be too worried it wouldn't arrive in time due to some glitch. I've done it at Guest Relations outside of MK. They dialed & handed me the phone to talk to Chase. It took about 5-10 minutes, and most of that was waiting on hold with Chase.

I just ordered mine this week, either monday or tuesday, so I'll let you know when it arrives. In the past, it has only taken about a week, but with only 2 weeks until your trip, I wouldn't risk it, unless you're willing to pay the $10 for 2-day(?) shipping.

I just ordered mine yesterday and I believe it said allow 5-10 buisness days. You could always call and see if you can put a rush on it, however it usually has a fee for that.

Say for an October trip, are you able to order the card now and then just have them add any additional points gained in the interim at GR once you're in the park?

But the minimum you can transfer is 10. So leave at least 10 in your account or whatever you think you will need so that you have at least 10 points to transfer between now and october.

Once you have the card in hand, you don't need to see anyone at the park. I believe you can just put the reward dollars on with a phone call.

Going to see someone at the park is simply to get the card in hand; you still need to make a phone call to move the reward dollars over to it.

Ironically, I ordered one today (Friday 8/5) at about 1:30pm MST and they said I would have it by 8/16.

I personally would not risk it for a trip that is only 2 weeks away. I would go to GS and get it there.

Have a GREAT trip!

Thanks everyone for the information! I didn't really understand how the program worked til reading the posts here.
I just ordered a card with only $20 loaded on it and estimated arrival date is 8/16. We leave on 8/19. If it arrives before the trip, great! I'll transfer the rest of my reward dollars onto it. If it doesn't, then no big deal, I'll just go to the people at Guest Relations.

It just arrived today so their estimated arrival date of 8/16 was accurate!

I also found the page on the website to do an online transfer of the rewards dollars onto the card so I don't even have to make a phone call or spend park time :cool1:

I know it takes 20 points to start the Disney Visa reward card.
Then, when you reload it, is it $10 increments to add on more points ?
Like $10 or $20 or $30 ..... ?

Or, can you relaod with just a minimum of $10 of points, so if your have $18 on your Visa statement in Disney points, then your can transfer all of the $18 onto your Disney Visa reward card (which is already established with $20) ?

I also know the Disney Visa reward card expires in the month of December, 2 years after it is issued.

As long as it is more than $10, you can add on any whole dollar amount. It is very quick! I was shopping in the Disney Store and called the number on the back of my card to add money and by the time I went to the check out counter, the money was there:thumbsup2.

Kristinrice - THANK YOU !!!!! :goodvibes

We will order our Disney Visa reward cards with $20 on it January 2012.
We will have about $23 left on the Visa Disney point statement.

When we go to WDW at the end of June - on June 15th, I will add any additional Visa Disney point dollars to the established Disney Visa Reward Card.

We may have a nice $50 to spend for fun at WDW.

Thank you !

Do credits on Disney Visa Redemption cards expire more quickly than Reward Dollars online? (nevermind, see ETA below)

ETA:
Q: Do my Disney Dream Reward Dollars expire?
A: The Disney Dream Reward Dollars transferred onto a Disney
Rewards Redemption Card will expire on the expiration date
printed on the Disney Rewards Redemption Card, generally
the end of the calendar year following the date of issuance.
Disney Dream Reward Dollars in your Disney Rewards account
will expire 5 years from the date they are earned (and posted to
your account).

So don't move your points to a Redemption card unless you know you will be able to use the card by December 31st, 2012.

Thank you for the caveat about expirations.

We go to WDW June 2012. So I think I will be OK with the Disney Visa rewards card. ;)

Hmm. I'm going the week after Labor Day and had planned to just get it at Guest Relations. I think now I'll order a $20 card and then transfer the rest of my money onto it later.

Thanks ya'll!
