Ok I am a new Disney Visa holder...

I am going to make my reservation soon w/ this card... however the final remaining balance of the room will not be due until check in. Because of this I won't be earning all of the Disney Visa rewards until the day I check in.

Is it possible to call Disney Visa and get the rewards from the most recent balance paid on the resort room to use the week you're there????

You can prepay your room total with WDW prior to arrival with the visa card to earn the reward dollars. Just make certain you do it prior to one of Visa cards' last statement dates before departure so you can have the rewards transferred to the RC.

I think you can't get the rewards earned during a statement period until the statement closes - so if you earned xxx amount of points for paying your resort balance in full upon check in, those rewards would not be available until that month's statement closed. Perhaps you could pay the resort balance in full before you arrive so that you could use the rewards earned during your trip. I have never done this, so I don't know if it's actually possible to pay in advance or if there is a valid reason not to.

DisneyBill ~ you beat me to it!! so you actually can prepay the resort balance? I might just try that this summer. It would be nice to have those rewards to use while we are there. Thanks!

Your rewards are only transfered over at the end of each billing cycle, not when you charge. So it if it not the end of a billing cycle while you are there, then you wont have access to those points until you return. However, if it does transfer over while you are there, you can go to downtown disney (and probably call on the phone - but I am not 100% sure so call and find out before) and they can transfer any points that you currently have available.

I would prepay. It also takes a while to get a rewards card in the mail, but it is like a little credit card. I have only ever gotten one rewards card (you can request multiples if you want) and then transfer any balances to it before we head to Disney. It stays with my APs. So, after your first billing cycle, when you have enough points, I would go ahead and call and order a card. You can do the transfering yourself (as well as ordering a card) online.

Have fun!

In order to get your first rewards card, you must have earned $20 in Disney Dream Rewards Dollars. Once you've reached that level, you can order the card, which takes about 7 business days to arrive. After that, any additional rewards dollars must be transferred to the card in increments of $10 or more. You can transfer those final few dollars from anywhere online or by phone. So, you could be on vacation and do that last transfer. The amount transferred is available immediately.

But as far as using the rewards dollars that you earn for the final balance of your room for that vacation, it probably won't be possible. The rewards dollars are not credited to your account until some time after the closing date for your account. For instance, let's say that your closing date is the 6th of the month. Those awards become available around the 10th or so. Unless your vacation is perfectly timed so that you pay for your room on the last day of your billing cycle, the chances are pretty slim that you'll be able to use the rewards dollars from that transaction on your vacation.
