Disney Visa Reward Dollars

Hi Does anyone know if you are able to use your disney reward dollars to pay for things on the ship? Say at the end of the cruise you can use it to pay your bar tab?

yes, you transfer the rewards to your on ship board credit, you even pay for all your tips at the end of the cruise

But, do you know if you can call DCL ahead of time and have the rewards posted to your onboard account? Or, can you do that at check in?

You can have your Disney Reward Dollars posted to your account at any time on the ship. If you have lots of dollars, I would wait and see if you will need all of them before you post them; otherwise I believe you will lose any that are not used. Not sure about that.

I had my points loaded onto the rewards card, then took the card to the front desk on the first day and they put all of those credits onto my account. I will be doing it again in March when we go.

You do not have to do it ahead of time. I did it hte second to last day and then paid the diffrence with a Credit card.

I tried to load my rewards dollars onto the account at check in, was told I should just give them my credit card (I knew I was going to spend more than I had available in rewards dollars) in the terminal, and could go to Guest Services to pay toward the stateroom bill w/ rewards dollars. And the CM at the desk had no idea, but the senior/supervising CM showed her how to do it.

I also used the rewards dollars in advance, right through DU's website, to make interim payments in between deposit and when final payment was due.
