We are going to BCV the second week of July. I have reward dollars accumulating on my Disney Visa and will need to cash them in for our trip. How long can I hold out before I request them from Visa? I want to accumulate as many as possible.

But I ordered waaaaay ahead of when we are leaving. I'm a nervous nellie. I would order the card now as long as you have $20. Just leave over $10 in there, and then you can transfer the rest of your points the day before you leave. But I would make sure you have the card in hand with plenty of time to spare.

First transfer must be at least $20.

Unlimited transfers thereafter with a minimum of at least $10.

You can order your rewards card online and should receive it in less then two weeks. Once you have the card you can continuously update the card based on your rewards balance. Additional dollars transfer to the card in a day. Hope this helps. ::yes::

Make sure the card is activated before you leave for vacation! I was lucky because I was purchasing AP vouchers and THOUGHT my rewards card was activated. It wasn't. I had to drive back home to phone the credit card company to activate the card (again). So, I went back to get my AP's and the rewards card did work. I was just glad I wasn't out of town at the time I was trying to spend my rewards dollars.

I called to request my card and had it in my hand in about 5 days.

My statement month will end the day before we leave so I am going to call that morning and have the last of my dollars switched over to my reward card. I estimate that I will have about 189 free disney dollars to spend on my trip.

Not bad at all.

Thanks friends. I didn't know you could order it online or continue to update it. We're going in July so I'll order it end of May beginning of June just to be safe.

And what is the expiration date of the money on the card?

herc.

You can also get a card at the kiosk in Downtown Disney. Then, go to a nearby payphone and have your balance transferred. It will be instantaneous.

I called from a Payphone in DTD and then walked into World of Disney and used the reward dollars.

While you may not be comfortable waiting until the last moment, I had to because my statement date was right before we arrived at Disney so I wanted to include that last bit of reward dollars.

Remember, as said above, you must have at least $20 to transfer the first time. Then, make sure you leave at least $10 in your account to make the last transfer becasue there is a $10 minimum transfer each time.

Ooops, I meant to edit my above reply. But anyway ...

Make sure that the primary card holder is with you when you want to transfer the reward dollars. My husband is the primary holder on ours and the lady on the phone insisted on getting his "approval" before she would transfer the money.
