Im a newbie card user. I got my redemption card in the mail with the first $$ downloaded on it. My question is now that I have the card in hand is the transfer of rewards $ to the card a faster process? Id like to earn right up to my trip but dont want to wait too late to download for use on the trip.

With Chase - you can go online and move your rewards $$ to your card (once you have a card) - it’s instant.

thats great!! Thats what I was hoping, thank you! I havent quite got a handle on how long rewards sit in pending before available but at least I can grab during my trip if they post late

Unless something has changed, your rewards can't be moved to a redemption card until your statement closes (meaning, rewards earned during your current statement period can't be transferred until your statement close date). Any rewards you have available can be transferred instantly - it's only the current month's rewards that won't be available until the close date.

I feel like I have done a terrible job explaining that.

Rewards are not earned until your statement date. So depending on the timing of your trip vs your statement date, you may or may not have new rewards post that can be transferred to your redemption card just before or even during your trip.

For example: my statement date is the 21st of each month.

• If I have a trip Oct 15-20, I would not be able to transfer any rewards from purchases in the weeks just prior to my trip or during the trip.
• If my trip were Oct 20-25, mid-trip I could transfer new points earned because my trip crosses my statement date of the 21st.
