3 questions-

1) Last August or so there was a huge incentive on the Disney Visa - something like $500 in rewards for a certain spending level. We found out about it too late. How often do these incentives come around?
2) What's the annual fee?
3) Are there many incentives for cardholders that DVC members don't already get?

thanks!!

There is a current incentive to earn 5 X rewards over a certain $$$ spend on gas and groceries for 3 months. The $$$ before the bonus kicks in are based on your prior spending, so those who use the card a lot tend to get very little benefit. It was a targeted promotion, so some carholders got nothing at all.

There was also a promotion last year that cardholders who bought DVC points got an additional $500 off the price from Disney. I think this was also targeted.

No annual fee. In addition, there is usually a sign up bonus. I think we got $50 for signing up.

The card usually gives a better discounts on tours at WDW and DL than DVC or AP.

Last year was the first time they offered such a promotion. Previously their only tie-ins with DVC were deferred interest periods. I think the deferred interest is still offered today--0% for 6 months on the downpayment for a DVC purchase.

Of course, any payments made go to the oldest balance first. So in order to really take advantage of the deferred interest, you need to hold-off making any additional purchases with the card.

One little thing that's nice, they have a free character photo session that's held at Epcot. Goes for a couple of hours, not sure how many days. It's in innoventions East or West, forget for sure which one. (Just down the hallway from the 'Fire Truck')

They've been doing this for a few years now. You just show your Visa card for admittance. You pick up your free photo at the Photo place by Spaceship Earth.

I use my disney visa for everything I would normally pay cash for. I think of it as using my ATM card or a check cashing card. But I make sure I pay this card every month in full. What's the big deal if I earn 1% bonus dollars if I'm paying a high interest rate on outstanding balances?

By carefully using the disney visa I have accumulated over $700 disney reward dollars in one year's time. How happy will I be when my first $700 in expenses at WDW are already taken care of!
