Before promotions are offered to the general public, they are usually offered to Disney Visa holders. How do I find out that there is a new offer before it is offered to the general public? We are planning an August trip this summer and I am hoping for some kind of discount.
Thanks,

Disboards will be a buzz with the Disney Visa offer (if there is one) and about a week after the DV offer there used to be a Public offer, but Disney seems like they have been scaling this back the last few years. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm glad I have a Disney Visa. If you are a DV holder, they will email you the offer, if you don't get the email you can go to Disney/Rewards site and see the offer.

Rumors usually start circulating here on the boards about upcoming promos and if/when they will be offered to Disney Visa holders first. With that said, you should receive an email from Chase giving information on the discount, however, it seems not everybody gets that email (we've never gotten one).

I usually get an email later in the afternoon the day it is released to visa holders. But I usually find out here first.....

If it is offered to Disney Visa holders first, are they the only ones that can book it during those few days before it goes public or can anyone book during that time if they find out about it? and do they have to use their Disney Visa to book it or can they use other means to pay for it? :confused3

You must have a Disney Visa in order to book, and you must use it to pay the deposit (or make a minimum payment equal to the deposit if you have already booked before the deal came out and didn't use your DV to book initially).

I dint use my DV to book as I did not have one then, I though of cancelling and rebooking with it, but if I can just pay another $200 when the discount comes out, that will be way easier!

Do you have to pay the balance using your Disney Visa, or can the balance be paid by other method (such as gift cards, if you aren't interested in the financing benefit)?

I got the Premier and hit my $500 in the first 3 days. So I just got my first statement, which shows $40 of Disney Rewards and that my $200 gift card is on its way. So I'd say that $49 annual fee is worth it for me!!

You can pay the balance however you want. Doesn't have to be the DV.

As mentioned, you can pay the balance however you want, but if you pay with gift cards, hold onto the empty cards until after your trip. If you have to cancel for some reason, you will need the cards to get your refund.

Does anyone have any experience with the Disney Visa debit card at Chase? Would that qualify you for a Disney Visa card holder discount? I know you don't get the actual rewards, but was wondering if in this case it could be used to book the special offer?

Yes, the debit card gets you everything the credit card does. It just doesn't earn rewards. We have the debit and the premier credit. When we do the Visa meet and greet at EPCOT, we are able to get two free photos per day because we have two accounts. We only do one meet for time reasons, so I choose a family shot and a shot of just the kids.
