I have read that you can get 6 months same as cash if you use the Chase Disney Visa card on small add on contracts. Is that automatic when you purchase with the credit card or do you have to request 6 months same as cash. We have had the card for about a year, but never used it to purchase more points.

It's automatic, like any of the other Chase Disney-offered promotional items. :thumbsup2

I don't know that it is automatic. We had problems with the promotion a couple of years ago and we were told that our Guide didn't process the charge correctly for Chase to give us the promotion. It took a couple of months, a letter and 5 phone calls to fix.

It should be automatic as I just paid my entire BLT add on, split between two cards. I am hoping my newest add on will also qualify.

Of course, they advertise that the promotion is only good up to $2500.00. Some of us, including me, have gotten the 6 months on amounts greater than that, but not sure if it is just not being monitored lately, or if they have unofficially changed. I wasn't expecting it and had the money to pay off everything above the $2500, but didn't once I saw I was getting the promo.

But I would recommend paying close attention when your statement comes to be sure they qualified you for it. The other key piece, if you use your card for other things, is to pay for those charges after your statement has been generated.

If not, they apply it to the Disney charge first. If you wait until you get your bill (or it is available online), then there should be no problems. I am going into my 4th month now and so far, everything has been interest free!

Good luck!

That is the key!

I "accidentally" paid half of it off prematurely because I was routinely paying off our balance every 2 weeks (I hate intrest charges!). When I made that payment half way through my statement cycle they applied it to the 0% part NOT my new charges.

If you look at the bottom of your statement you'll see a section that breaks down any interests charges you may have & there it will show if you have anything at 0% and what day it ends.

So I started paying my balance minus the 0% portion the day after my statement ended online & so far no interest. My 6th month ends in July.

Our add-on was automatically put on 0% even though I didn't ask for it. I was only trying to earn more reward points by putting it on Visa. (I guess they're hoping I'll forget about it and get stuck with charges)

I would suggest you visit www.daveramsey.com for questions about this subject. Dave Ramsey changed the whole way I look at finance,

I preferr Clarck Howard. I mean Dave is great if you're a debt-oholic.
Once the baby steps are over Clark gives other useful info about scams, rip-offs & where to save money.

This just happened to me on my recent cruise purchase. I was using the card like our debit card and then making payments to cover the charges, unfortunately prior to the statement date. I thought that I was being so smart. The plus side is that my cruise is half paid for! :)
