I am so happy that I have my Disney Visa card. I have $72 that they will be sending me on a card in the next 10 days. I use it to charge all my groceries, gas and clothing purchaes and the points have really begun to add up.

I'm just curious how much everyone usually earns in a year?

I've had my card since April, 2003, so almost exactly 3 years. I have 868 rewards dollars (I've never cashed any in) and will be receiving about 18 next month.

My first rewards are set to expire in April 2008. I am planning another WDW trip in summer 2008, so I will use them then.

I have actually been to WDW twice since I got my card, but didn't use the rewards. However, our financial situation will change significantly this summer, when ds starts Catholic high school. Much of our discretionary income (if not all of it!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ) will go towards tuition. So this will help our family have a vacation. We will exchange our timeshare, we have leftover passes and will use the rewards card for food. So all we will have is our plane fare.

We've had it since Day 1 and put every penny that we can on the card and pay the balance off monthly. The rewards can add up nicely.

I also enjoy the rewards card. I generally get around $130 in rewards a year. But this year I started paying my huge utility bills with the card just for the rewards. Getting the reward card is great but spending those free dollars is beautiful :goodvibes I think there is a max of $750 points per year.

We LOVE getting Disney Dollars with our rewards and our last trip this January, we paid for ALL of our food budget with it. We only charge things we would be buying anyways--a great way to get vacation $$$!!!!! WE LOVE IT!!!

Gotta love those Disney Rewards!

We are cardholders since "Day 1" (2003?). We've cashed in Disney Rewards before - about 450 to use during our 2004 trip and so far we have built up about 550 to use for this year's trip.

We had about $303 to spend on our Nov 04 trip, $203 for Nov 05, and so far have $122 towards our Nov 06 trip in Disney Visa rewards!!

I do use Citi card , however, for gas, groceries and drug store purchases since they give 5% back on those purchase (although they have a $300/yr limit). I use Disney Visa for everything else, including insurance (car, home & umbrella), cell phone bill, cable bill, etc.

I have a Disney Visa card, but have nothing spent on it. It is just around specifically for the meet and greet on our trip and I will destroy it upon return.

I normally use a Chase Mastercard because with it I get 1% CASH back, which is more flexible than Disney dollars, and is at the same rate of reward. Since we pay as many bills as we can on this card, as well as use it for most purchases (with the exception of below), I make about $120/year which is great considering I pay no fees or interest. It's almost like I'm making money off the misery of others who do not pay their cards off each month.

Lately though, after joining Costco, I've been using my Costco AMEX card for dining out as that offers a 3% cash back.

Sure, Disney Visa is great, and we've had it since day 1, but Chase customer service is lousy if you ever have problems, requiring multiple phone calls to remedy problems, and I've about had it with them.

what is the meet and greet?

I was just approved for a Disney VISA (watching the mail for it anyday now), and I am also interested to know what the meet and greet is? HELP!

The meet and greet runs until late September of this year. In one of the Innovations buildings in Epcot you can present your Disney Visa and get a special meet and greet with several characters as well as a free photo (one per day). Because there will be few able to take advantage of this, the lines tend to be shorter (although I understand you should still go earlier in the day). Since we'll be staying at Beach Club, I'm planning to head over 2 or 3 days just to do this for my son.

Not sure how much we have or have had but I use it for everything I can, except grocery, gas and drug store (which I never go to, because my pharmacy is IN my grocery store). For those i use my Citi-dividends because I get 5% cash back.

If you have a Disney Visa, you can get your "free character photo" when you go to Epcot. The character greeting is in Innoventions West from 1:30-4:30 daily

When we went (President's week busy busy & busy)
there was nobody waiting, my family got a photo with Minnie & Goofy.

I actually asked the CM to take photos with my camera. They came great.

The characters are all curtained off when you get there, but you'll see a cast member with a clipboard. They ask to see your Disney Visa, then they give you a coupon for your free photo. What's really cool is that we got some family shots with all 2 characters in them You can take your photopass to the photo shop at the front of Epcot and then choose whatever picture you want for your freebie. It's a great deal and a fun character experience, great way to meet the characters, & not wait in line, in a cool air condition place.

Hope this helps

I LOVE the Disney Visa!! :thumbsup2 We put EVERYTHING that we can on it and then pay it off each month. We earn about $30/month in reward dollars, so about $300-$400 a year I would say.

I love Disney Visa! We have the red one with the Mickey ear outline and I want the Vintage Mickey one but DH won't let me get it. He refuses to us such a "girlie" card and says if I order it he will never use it again, unless it's over the phone where no one can see. :rotfl:

In 2004 we had 80 rewards that we used toward that trip. For our 2006 trip I'm guessing we'll have 250-300. I'm so excited about that because we'll be on the premium package, which means we hardly need any spending money. The reward dollars will come in handy for shopping and drinks. Can't wait!

We also have Disney Visa and have about 150 Rewards dollars on it right now. We used some in '04 for our trip also. We were just at Downtown Disney before our flight out on 3/6, so I used it in the huge World of Disney Store, where you get a 10% discount. The cashier told me I didn't have to use the card to pay for my purchases in order to get the 10% discount - I just had to show her I had one. I didn't know this. I used it anyway to get more rewards points though.

That's too bad....I found Bank One very easy to work with. I'll keep an eye on Chase

I paid for my Disney Fairy Tale Wedding on it. Nice rewards!

I've been a member since day one and use the Dis Visa for almost all our spending. I think we've collected a little over $1,800 reward dollars over our last 4 disney trips. I just love this card. We thought about switching to a cash back card, but then the cashback would probably just be spent on other bills. This way the reward dollars truly are a reward and are fun to spend!
