Disney VISA gift card offer- question

Doubtful. But when you are managing millions of accounts some people manage to slip through the cracks.

You either didn't read the TOS and got lucky or read them, applied anyway and scammed the company out of a few hundred dollars. Good for you.

Right there should have raised a red flag for anyone with a sense of ethics. If you charge $1000/month what is the point of having multiple cards when you aren't going to charge any more but rather spread the same amount over multiple cards just so you can get some free gifts?

The only real mystery is why the mods pull threads made by people who brag about cheating their way into the parks when they don't pull ones like this. I wonder if they think it's because Chase is the one being cheated out of the money instead of Disney?

By posting without bothering to read read the thread (which had all the info you needed) before you you managed to answer your own question.

Just wow! :sad2:

I have a card and DH is the authorized user. We only use one credit card and pay it off every month. We have a great Fico score of 820 (out of 850).

Your credit score has absolutely nothing to do with it. Neither does your payment history. This is a promotion.

I wanted a separate account for each of us; DH can use it for work-related expenses and I can use mine for home expenses/travels. I applied for the Disney $200 offer. I received a letter to call them. They said that we cannot get a second card in the same household.

Notice the bolded I's? You already had a card. You applied again when the terms of service clearly state it is for first-time cardholders only. Then not only are you surprised that you got rejected you're mad at them for rejecting you when it's entirely your fault :rotfl2:

I told her I am sure we will get another card but from a different company. I know other companies provide much better rewards than Disney Chase. I only wanted Disney rewards, well not anymore.

I'm sure whatever new company you deal with will happily fork over hundreds of dollars you don't deserve :thumbsup2

Wow! Stop attacking people. Credit card companies make billions of $ from the consumers. First of all it's none of your business what cards I will want to get. I am sure my husband using the Chase card for work would have made a lot of money for Chase (much more than their $200 they will fork out). I am not sure what your problem is in these boards. I have seen you attacking every single person in several threads (related to Chase card) in the Budge board. Time to stop!!

You want something for nothing then get angry when you don't get it. Trying to take it out on the messenger (especially when the messenger doesn't care what you think) is pointless. So is trying to blame the greedy credit card companies for refusing to give extra $$$ to the greedy consumer who applies for something they aren't eligible for. If you want someone to blame look in the mirror at the person who didn't take the time to read the rules before applying.

Disneypharm (and others) please do not take what certain DIS's say personally!!! Most of the people on these boards are helpful, but there are always a few who will say negative things repeatedly.

To the OP, if you get another Disney card from Chase ... good for you. If not, it was worth a try. Perhaps Chase should better monitor who they send the offers to if they do not want people to have multiple cards.

Our experience:
Got an offer in the mail for the Chase Disney Visa(don't remember if it was addressed to DH or the family) $200 promo-applied online for DH as primary, and me as second. Got it, used it, paid it off and got the $200 gc in the mail. Got another offer in the mail addressed to me, applied online with me as the primary and DH as the second. Got the card, used it will pay it off as soon as I get the bill-and now waiting for the GC. I plan on using the GC's and never using the card again.
Is this somehow unethical? I followed the rules of the promotion-get the card and use it-
Thanks in advance for your opinion(s).

No, it is not unethical at all. Chase gives you an offer hoping you will charge enough for them to make money off of it and knowing that some will do just as you did, take the $400 and move on. That is a cost of doing business. We did the same thing with the Southwest offer for 2 free round trip tickets. We got our 4 tickets, paid according to the rules and haven't used them since. The people that are getting rejected (and for some getting very upset over it) are people who have already taken advantage of a promotion and are trying to get another promotion when it clearly states that people who have received other promotions aren't eligible.

You are absolutely wrong! My only Chase card which I have had for 6 years never came with a promotion! This would have been my second request for a card for my husband to use for work-related expenses. You have actually used a Southwest offer for 2 free tickets for a card that you never used and you judge others!! Amazing. :sad2:

luvtheworld16 - Thank you for your kind words. I agree.

She said that DH can apply for a Sapphire card (with an annual fee - no way!!) or other work-related chase credit cards.

Who got the offer? If it was you, you already had a card and don't qualify. If it was for your DH, they should have honored the offer-provided he isn't the primary on another account.
That's how I see it.
But it really doesn't matter what I think, it matters what Chase thinks.

The offer came to our house for our family name. As I mentioned before in my original post, the second card is for my husband for work-related expenses. I am the primary for the first card and my husband is the authorized user. The Chase rep told me that since my husband is the authorized user for the first card, he is considered a card holder and would not be eligible to get another card. They recommended that he applies for a Sapphire card (no way - since it has an annual fee) instead.

The real question is, how can I get Chase to send me a Disney Card promo???? Someone said try requesting a vacation planning video. you guys know or have any idea??

I dunno, but apparently once you get the first one, they keep sending offers for more. We got our third offer to our household today.

First was for 150 bonus reward points, second was for $200 gift card, and now a third for a $200 gift card. I took the first one, DH the second...we're still not sure what to do about the one that came today!:upsidedow

We just got this offer and I have a card in my name so I might see if dh will open one so we get the $200. Does anyone know whether you can request a specific credit limit? We would only want at the most $500 since we already each have cards with large limits.

Do you need to have a promo offer mailed to you? I am considering applying for a Disney Visa (especially if I can get points to redeem toward a gift card with it) but I have not received a mail offer. Sometimes we get them addressed to my mother (who already has one) but I was wondering if I just apply online for the card would I be considered for the giftcard?

TIA !

Up until a few months ago, it was possible to be approved for multiple Chase Visa cards (i.e. Disney, Southwest, Chase Freedom) and also be eligible for the incentive bonuses for enrolling for each card. Now these incentive bonuses are limited to one per person, as I found out when I applied for the Southwest Visa card after being approved for the Disney Visa card a few months earlier. I received the same letter as you.

wha?!?:confused3 wow-that's new..... I have multiples from past offers.....so sad,I won't be able to do that anymore:wizard:

I got the letter too, telling me I already have a Disney Chase card and to call. I called yesterday. I was told that this past Feb. they changed the rules and now only one of each type of card will be approved per person. I already had two Disney Visa's when I applied for and received the SW card (and offer) without question in March of this year.

So apparently you can be approved for multiple Chase cards, just not multiple cards of the same type (SW, Disney, etc.)
