I got a $200 invitation in the mail. I filled it out and sent it in.

I then received a letter today that stated that they were not going to give it to us without a phone call asking us WHY we want another VISA Disney card since we already have one.

WHAT????? Why are they even offering? They know we have another Disney Visa card and they offered the $200 promo.

So, what is this about?

We got the same offer. We first got a card in my name with DH as authorized user. Then a week or so ago we got another offer that was the same in his name. We were going to try it...for the free $200:banana: but weren't sure if they would let us do it.
keep us posted on what you find out! I've heard other people have done it on here. :thumbsup2

UGH! He can get it. We already have 2. One was a $100 offer and one was like some $25 offer or some such low offer......now that it is $200 they won't give it to us.

So, looks like you can get it......we can't.

We got the same offer.

Read the back of it, paragraph 1 of the terms of service, where it plainly states that it is a one-time offer for first-time carmembers only. Then you can decide if that somehow doesn't apply to you.

Unfortunately, it's the old story of the left hand not knowing what the right one is doing.

The offers come from a separate marketing division within Chase, an area not privy to the financials of the individuals who are receiving the offers.

Up until a few months ago, it was possible to be approved for multiple Chase Visa cards (i.e. Disney, Southwest, Chase Freedom) and also be eligible for the incentive bonuses for enrolling for each card. Now these incentive bonuses are limited to one per person, as I found out when I applied for the Southwest Visa card after being approved for the Disney Visa card a few months earlier. I received the same letter as you.

We just got the offer for the $200 GC. We did not have a Disney card yet. It came to our "family" not my DH or myself, so I did the application twice. The first, my DH's, was approved immediately. Mine, it said they will get back to me in 10 days so I thought maybe they didn't like that using the same code. (We both have excellent credit >800) However, my card showed up yesterday! Now we just have to use them and will get our $400.

It does specifically say for new Disney chase accounts only, so the only other thing I could think of is canceling your card and hoping for a new offer again down the line?

Yeah....they said they can give us a 3rd card (which I don't want) but we can't qualify for the $200.

It isn't a huge deal, it would just be nice to have $200 towards Disney!

My daughter got one easily as a college student.

It also says for first-time cardholders only. Cancelling and reapplying does not make you a first-time cardholder.

Well, that is great news!! Did you use your household income for her? DD doesnt have a job, she is working an unpaid internship:confused3 and babysitting for cash....so no technical income.

No - I can't remember how it came about but no she did not use household income.

If she was working it was a very small job. She did all ready have a credit card from our bank though that she got when she was 18 as part of setting up some accounts so it is possible that her good credit there got her the card.

The rules are you can have up to 3 Disney Visa cards however they will need to be three different promotions.... 200 offer 100 DVC offer 25 offer etc.

You can only get ONE CHASE credit card (any chase card) pormotion every 6 months otherwise you will be turned down.

My wife and I both have 2 Disney Visa's each got all promotions no problems or questions... waiting for the 200 for the third :lmao: which I will likely never get since I use the cards

That is not the info I was just told over the phone. We each currently have ONE and I was told we cannot qualify for a 2nd promotion at all.

Got a link to those rules? Until you post something I'll consider it wishful thinking on your part.

Folks, if you get the offer turn it over and read the back. It doesn't have any nonsense like was posted above, it's as plain as the nose on your face. One gift card for First time cardholders. So let's consider the possibilities:

One for you - :thumbsup2

One for your spouse - :thumbsup2

One on a joint account - :rolleyes1

Cancel and reapply later - :rolleyes1

College student child - actually a pretty good possibility. Since the student is part of the family you could use your family income even if the student doesn't work. That is why college students get credit cards anyway, because the banks have learned that the parents will cover the debt if the kid screws up.

Other than that you may possibly slip through but if they decide to audit you and see you applied for multiple cards even though you weren't elegible they have their ace card: the little thing you sign when you apply saying that you acknowledge reading and agree to abide by the terms of service. If they want to come after you you have no defense. Is it worth it to have a team of people whose only job is to sue folks come after you over a gift card?

Again, got a cite? My wife received the Southwest promotion for 2 round trip tickets and the Disney gift card within weeks of each other. Since we read the Southwest offer as well as we read the Disney one I can assure you there was absolutely nothing saying that you were inelegible if you applied for a promotion from a different company.

I have a card and my husband has a card. I applied for a new card to try and get the $200 gift card. I received a letter saying to call Visa about our application. So I did. I did not qualify because I already have a card.:confused3 Why do they keep sending me these mailers if they refuse me in the end????

Blessedby3 - my DD is a 21 year old college student. Our household received the infamous $200 Disney Visa offer. Since I already have two Disney Visa cards, DD applied. She was approved. The application asked for household income, not her income. It did ask where she works, she has worked at school in the work study program for two years so she put that down as her job. Hope your daughter is approved also.

humm I wonder if they changed the rules somehow.

We have 4 Disney Visas between dh and I

The first one I got in general (maybe a $25 or $40 reward for signing up) in my name with dh having a card too

Then we got a $200 promo offer in the mail - signed up under dh's name with me as a 2nd

Got another $200 offer figured they were a bit nuts but signed up anyway got it in my name with dh having a card too

Got a $150 offer again signed up dh as the primary and me as the 2nd.

They haven't sent us any more offers but we sure did enjoy the $550 they gave us (it was in less than 6 months as I recall) just for getting more cards. We only use one card at a time (right now it's the castle card because it's got the 3x promo going on).

Doubtful. But when you are managing millions of accounts some people manage to slip through the cracks.

You either didn't read the TOS and got lucky or read them, applied anyway and scammed the company out of a few hundred dollars. Good for you.

Right there should have raised a red flag for anyone with a sense of ethics. If you charge $1000/month what is the point of having multiple cards when you aren't going to charge any more but rather spread the same amount over multiple cards just so you can get some free gifts?

The only real mystery is why the mods pull threads made by people who brag about cheating their way into the parks when they don't pull ones like this. I wonder if they think it's because Chase is the one being cheated out of the money instead of Disney?

By posting without bothering to read the thread (which had all the info you needed) before you, you managed to answer your own question.

I got the same thing as DawnM. I have a card and DH is the authorized user. We only use one credit card and pay it off every month. We have a great Fico score of 820 (out of 850).
I wanted a separate account for each of us; DH can use it for work-related expenses and I can use mine for home expenses/travels. I applied for the Disney $200 offer. I received a letter to call them. They said that we cannot get a second card in the same household. She said that DH can apply for a Sapphire card (with an annual fee - no way!!) or other work-related chase credit cards.
I told her I am sure we will get another card but from a different company. I know other companies provide much better rewards than Disney Chase. I only wanted Disney rewards, well not anymore.
