Disney Visa Free Dining?

aw, come on... I know there are a million and one threads about free dining, but I *JUST* got my Disney Visa in the mail just this week and I am hoping I can use the darn thing by getting a few days ahead of the masses booking free dining, WHEN and IF it ever becomes available.

Sure, it's a shot in the dark-- but maybe someone has heard something? Isn't it usually in the month of March (last year March 26) that it was released that Disney Visa cardholders could book free dining for Fall 2009? So.... if so, it will be VERY SOON.

If no one has heard anything and they want to talk about it, others with the Disney Visa can speculate with me!

I'll speculate! I am so ready to book a trip that I am about to burst...but I really want to wait until (if) free dining really does become available. I couldn't remember how far in advance of the public announcement it came out last year. March 26 seems sooooo far away!

Was it that you could start booking March 26, but it was announced before that? I can't wait much longer!!!! That doesn't leave much time to book ADR's for August/September trips!

I know how you feel. I have my ADR date all set up in my calendar to remind me the day before so I can start planning it out and its coming up quick. We usually go the same week every year so as soon as free dining comes out I'm gonna book our week. Keep an eye on your email for updates from chase the free dining usually comes out a few days for visa holders before the public, one thing I did to make sure mine wasn't going to spam a few months ago was sign up for balance notification for a few days you will get the email everyday or so and that way once you have marked it not spam/added the address you can be sure that you don't miss any emails from them. Also make sure you check in here, they sometimes know on the podcast a few days prior to the official release that free dining is coming and they are always more than happy to share and get us all itching to book.

Late March sounds right, because it's released to the public the next week and that's always been first of April. I am also waiting to hear from Chase VISA about the offer dates when they come out! I can't wait - - we have not been in three years! We are definitely going this year!

We've been there way too much (is there such a thing as too much?) over the past decade, but we have finally managed to talk my mom into coming along...she hasn't been there since 1994. I can't wait for her to see Disney again through the eyes of her granddaughters. She has had a rough 18 months, losing both her father and husband to pancreatic cancer. (My grandpa and step-father). Hoping this trip will be healing for her.

Anyway, hoping for free dining so we can keep costs down as much as possible so we can get her totally 100% on board, she's at about 90% right now!

Don't hold your breath for Disney Visa to send out any Free Dining emails anytime soon. We have been Disney Visa holders for at least 5 years and the announcement and code dates are out here on the DIS and Mousesavers long before Disney Visa will email you anything. You're lucky if you get the free dining from them at all. For the last three years I've had my FD trip booked for 2 days before I even got there FD promotional email.

Amen to that. I rely on mousesavers for that scoop usually . I'm pretty sure I've NEVER received a promotional email for my Disney VISA

I feel your pain. Our cards just arrived today. I too am hoping for the free dining. We are on a budget and it would be a HUGE help. With the savings we may even be able to change to moderate which would be great since we will be there 7 nights and 260 SF sounds pretty cramped.

I'm eager to see something official (or even good rumors ) about FD. I've had a Disney Visa for years, but VISA is not good about passing along stuff like that. Maybe their website will have something. Without a doubt, someone will find out and the news will spread like wildfire!
There is no doubt in my mind that FD will be offered. The question is WHAT type of FD and with what conditions will it be offered. Seems like I've been reading more & more about FD pins or promotions for times that they have NOT been offered in the past. If business is so bad that it must be offered in peak summer month, they will definitely offer during peak hurricane season. I'm renting 2 rooms at POP. I REALLY hope they offer DDP like they have in previous Sep promotions and not QSDP. For the last month, I check DisBoards & Mousesavers every night. My friends and family think I'm nuts...duh...of course. I enjoy planning and tend to overdue it by some opinions. (Correction: Not ALL my family. My DD & DGD agree with me, but they are going with me this trip.. TeeHee!)

I did receive the free dine info AFTER learning of it here first on the DIS> That being said, you really have to "llok" for it...I think you first log in , then go to a section that says deals...eventually it is listed there...Not very reliable, stick to the DIS for the real info

Just so you know you ARE eligible for the free dining offer to Disney Visa holder whether they send you notification or not.

the same week every year, why don't you book the bounceback? Then you don't have to wait until the public offer comes out. We've been booked at Pop with the regular DDP since last Sept & I get to make our ADRs on Monday!!!!!

I have gotten notification from Disney Visa of the free dining one day prior. It said starting tomorrow, you can book FD. That was last year, when I wasn't going, so surely this year I won't get it, because I am waiting for it.

Anyway, my magic mirror tells me that it will be released to Disney visa holders on March 29TH. Total speculation of course, but one can dream. Then the deal will open to the public on the 31ST. Only time will tell if I should become a psychic.

The bounceback last October was for free dining from Mid August to the end of September. Thinking that may come up this year as well. Just to be safe, I would book ADRs that you might want. You just need to call/book online each day instead of day 1+10, unless you have a current reservation.

Its why some book a room only reservation, one nights rate, then are able to book ALL their dining for the 180+10 Then just change it over when the promo comes out....
I have to admit this year....I am seriously considering NOT doing Disney after all this hoopla of some getting pins and actually feeling "ripped off" I think the DH is wearing off on me he says this every year...it is me that is addicted, not him. Then instead of booking Aug as the bounceback I said no, we will do something else, so I did not book it...what was I thinking?? SO here I am, pushed into a June trip for a time I do not even want to visit Disney (A Joyous family obligation, but pushed none the less at a Much Higher cost) and really want to feel like if I must go in June I "got something" KWIM Its worse because we have been free dine at least 4-5 times, so paying OOP is honestly bugging me....I am lucky, we can afford it, but I still conserve what I can...so it still annoys me .....I am "tempted" to reduce my pkg as room only just to see IF I somehow got the free dine for June then upgrade it??? Oh, this is nuts
so here I sit, with June booked, Aug on hold (paid part) and Oct a likely goner... too much "angst" this year.... should I think Harry Potter ??
