No, unfortunately Disney Visa cards are not available to Canadians.
Actually, you can get a VISA but it takes a little time and a US Post Box address. I not only have a US Disney Card (my sister does too) I also have an Alaska Airlines US Card, US AMEX and US (Chase)
Amazon card. Oh, I live in Vancouver, CAN and have NEVER lived in the US not do I have a US SSN. I just put in my Canadian SIN. The credit agencies tie in to your address and name. I even got a letter stating what my credit rating was...
Here are the steps:
1) Set up US address. There are many Canadians who have a (just across the border) address for US package deliver (Amazon). I have a mailbox setup as well for letters. Most of the business they get in Bellingham is from Canadians.
2) Goto the AMEX US website and apply for one of their cards. I did this on a whim and in less than 15 sec, I was approved...with 40,000 rewards points to stay at hilton properties AND annual fee waived for 1 yr...SWEET. You must use your US address
3) Use the AMEX (preferable in the US for obvious reasons) and pay it off entirely each month which will give you credit history
4) In about 9 months, apply for a Standard Chase VISA. You should have enough credit history and they will send you a credit card...to your US address
5) About 3-6 months after using the Chase VISA, then apply for the DISNEY version....and voila! ...and now you can apply for other cards, if you wish. Just keep trying....
It's funny as since I got my US cards, I now get multiple letters with pre-approved credit cards from banks I never even heard of called all sorts of names....weird. My next card is the TOTAL rewards card for Vegas. Upgrade to Platinum membership (free rooms), 2 free buffets, and $100 in points! SWEET!
SUCCESS goes to the Persistent. NEVER GIVE UP....NEVER SURRENDER
Good Luck!
