Disney Visa - Dream Rewards Card Expiration Question

How long are the Dream Rewards cards valid? I've got some rewards that are about to expire so I figured I should go ahead and transfer them to a redemption card now but trying to figure out how much longer they will last once they are on the card.

I went online to check for the answer for this question but all I could find was this... which tells me just about nothing.

Do Disney Rewards Redemption Cards expire?

Yes, a Disney Rewards Redemption Card expires on the date printed on the front of the card. Any Disney Dream Reward Dollars remaining on the card at expiration will be permanently lost.

If I remember correctly it is the December after the year it was issued.

For example the card was issues in Sept 2012 that means it is good until Dec 2013

Of course that is unless it changed since I last checked

I just transferred my reward dollars to a reward card, and purchased a Disney gift card at the Disney store. Disney gift cards don't expire, so it seemed like a good plan to me!

I recently ordered my Rewards card and had the same question. I called up memer serices and this is what they told me:
If ordered now (9/9/2012) it will be good until December of next year (12/31/2013).

So you have a little more than a full year to use it.

I never heard of that being an option either. I have heard of people being able to buy Disney Park Gift Cards with their DDRDs, and those don't expire so that's the best way around the expiration date that I've heard of.

Just an FYI, I have done many winter trips and the new cards are never available in early January! We started waiting until we got to the park and even Guest Services had the older ones. DH complained to Chase since we had less than a year to use it and never heard back.

OHHH thanks for the reminder! I ended up loosing $20.00 cause I forgot all about transferring (never did it before)
But now that i know i can get gift cards with the redemption card,
just converted $390.00
We were supposed to go to DL this summer, but with the house renovation, and the extra expenses for that we postponed it till next july, (and we may have to postpone again until 2014 So having this $$ safely accounted for is a big help!! thank you so much
