Disney Visa/Disney Store deal???

I got this email from our Disney Visa card. Anyone have an idea of what the deal will be or if they've done similar things like this in the past. I wasn't planning on getting a redemption card yet (cause I don't know how long after issue they expire) but I'm curious about the deal.

Disney card used to be decent but its not really great anymore. You can get 1% rewards anywhere. We racked up about $850 in rewards over the past 6 years. However we just got our last statement before our trip....so from here on out we're only keeping the Disney card for the free meet & greet.

I think the expiration date on the card. I got mine about a month or so ago and it expires 12/2015. We are going this fall so I will use everything by then

I'm pretty sure I've read that you can use the redemption card to buy a Disney gift card (which doesn't expire). So that would work if you were getting close to the expiration date.

They did something like this last year, but I don't remember the details, it wasn't related to Free Dining or anything like that though.

Unless they have changed it in the last few months, your redemption card is good until December of the year following redemption. If you order one, today it should be good until December 2015.
