If I use my Disney Visa @ the eligible WDW restaurants & stores, will I automatically get the 10% discount or do I need to ask for it? What if I am using my redemption card - will I get a discount using that as well? I will have to admit - I think I have let the discount-ball drop on past trips & I really want to get my ducks in a row this time. I love a good behind the scenes discount, but hate the awkwardness of asking for one ....time to get awkward 😂

You need to ask for the discount and you must pay with your CC. If your Disney Visa is linked to MDE, you should get any applicable discount when using Mobile Merchandise Checkout at participating locations.

With Apple Pay/Google Pay couldn’t you show the card and then pick a different card in your phone's wallet?

Online I know you need to use the card but not sure if you could switch to a different card that earns more.

Do you know if I can get the discount when using my Disney Visa Redemption Card? It works and looks similar to the credit card. 🤷‍♀️

Yes those work but again you have to ask.

Personally I don’t use that card anymore as Chase now has Pay Yourself back which allows redemptions in any account plus you earn points on the purchase where you don’t with the redemption card.

oh good point about earning points on the purchase. So if I didn't transfer to the redemption card at all, I could just continue to use my Disney Visa and then just 'pay myself back' in the month following my trip? They just let you apply your rewards to your card for anything at any point?

You have 90 days to wipe the purchase off you can do it as soon as the transaction or wait until your statement posts to apply more points. I posted somewhere on here that it was letting me redeem $0.01 for a shop Disney purchase.

Remember it has to be a Disney purchase to be redeemed like the card. The card let you do AMC movies too but not sure if Pay yourself back works for that

Looks like they did make it so that you can’t use PYB at AMC and will need to transfer to a rewards card.

I have never redeemed points for a movie and don’t see myself doing so in the future but some may.

At many of the retail shops, they will ask if you get a discount- DVC or AP? I always say, "Nope, just Disney VISA" and they apply the discount to my purchases. Usually at restaurants, they'll include the Disney VISA option along with the other two, but if they don't, I say the same thing. I was really surprised to get the discount at the gift shop in the Poly!
