disney visa card reward points

So I have decided to use my disney visa card to basically pay for all my monthly bills:
gas, groceries, light, cable, insurance to wrack up points for our trip in April. Every little bit will help.
Does anyone else do this or have other suggestions on how I can add up points quickly with this card.
Upgrade to the premiere card. It costs I think $50 per year but we get $750 approx. in rewards every year.

Frankly, the Disney Visa's a pretty lousy rewards card. We keep the free version for the Disney perks but if you have average or better credit there are a number of options out there that can get you at least 2% back on EVERYTHING you spend if you want to use it towards Disney or travel. Disney is 1% with very limited options for bonuses.

The Premier is 2X on Gas, Restaurant, Groceries for $49 that came with a $200 back offer. I agree that other cards offer 2% on everything, but are they offering cash dollar-to-point? Sure, you accumulate points and then you get to buy a camera for 1000 points that you could buy on Amazon for $100. If I could get a $100 Disney gift card for 100 points ...sign me up. I really haven't compared recently, but the Disney VISA points convert directly to dollars that I know that I will use at some point. We're up to about $2200 now and this is our third go around.

The disney rewards card just doesn't give good enough rewards for me to use it as a my main card. I have an Amex that gives me 6% back at grocery stores and 3% at gas stations, then two cards with rotating 5% rewards categories, and a final card that is 2% back on everything. The only one of these with a fee is the Amex, but it more than pays for itself.
I got the Disney card for the $200 signing bonus, charged $500 towards my package for September, and haven't touched it since.

All my cards allow for statement credits that are at least dollar to 100 points (so exactly cent to point just like the Disney visa).

So you spend $1000 in groceries and get 60-points ...they'll send you $60? That's a great deal. Maybe I should start looking. My issue is I'm so busy I don't really feel like managing more than two cards ..my other is a Delta SkyMiles AMEX which I honestly don't use too much -maybe $1000 a month.

I just use Amex Blue Cash to buy Disney GCs from the grocery store (+6% back) & store them in a Disney Vacation Account (+2% back in more Disney GCs).

I have both a Discover card and a Disney Visa. I use the Discover for the 5% cashback categories every quarter as well as ordering stuff online that offer cashback. Everything else goes on my Disney card. Then I pay them both off each month. Between the two I usually rack up a good amount before each trip.

I put our DD private school tuition on it monthly among a few other things each month. Have $400 for this year's trip :flower1:

I miss the old days of the rewards with disney visa. I can remember getting free stroller rental at the parks and 2% back on any disney purchases. I think the card is pretty sad now but we have been saving for over a year and we are up to over $800. Once I am done with our trip I will probably go to a different rewards card.

I miss the old days when Chase would offer 5X rewards points on specific areas like gas or groceries for 3 months. Those were some awesome opportunities to rack up the points. Now, the regular Disney Visa is only worth keeping for a few things: the 0% interest for 6 months on packages, the free character meet & greet photo in Epcot, and the access to the Chase lounge during F&W.

We got a late start with the Dis Visa (regular, not premier) and only started charging all purchases on it in December for our May 3 visit, but quickly got to $190 in rewards (partly thanks to my ILs renovating their kitchen and having cash for it ... we bought for them and paid off with their cash) But we now use Amex Blue .. 2% and 5% on gas and groceries, I think .. we got to $100 in under 2 months.

In the 9-10 years we've had the card, I haven't spent a dime out of pocket inside the parks. I've paid for meals, souvenirs, a fireworks cruise- anything we did inside the park.

There are better rewards cards available- but this earmarks it for Disney. It's easy to use and track and I like it a great deal.

We use it for everything possible. We occasionally shop at Sams Club and the don't take VISA, but they do take Walmart Gift Cards purchased with the VISA. I know it seems minor but i do it we have a big purchase ie, tires or electronics. We pay the fee for the premier card also, well worth it, not something I would usually pay for. We usually get enough to pay for half a trip every other year.

That is what we do!:cheer2: Last year we upgraded to what I believe they call a Premium Card where we get twice the points on all Disney purchases! Works well for our annual maintenance fee!:Pinkbounc
