Disney Visa Card Payment Question

I have a Disney Visa Card that I put my WDW vacations on so I can pay 0% for 6 months. On my recent vacation I put my room charges on the card too to get the reward points.

My question is if I send in a payment to pay off my room charges does that get applied to the room charges or will they apply it to wherever they want so they can charge me interest on the room charges next month?

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any help is appreciated.

I believe that when you carry a 0% interest balance, like your vacation, payments are applied to that first.

The Disney Visa card is the only card that puts your payments toward your balances that are interest bearing BEFORE your 0% balances. As long as you make sure that you pay those interest balances in full plus the minimum due on the 0%, you shouldn't incur any finance charges.

It probably depends on the small print on the specific offer you take. A few years ago we ran into the thing where they applied payments to the lower interest rate on a "convenience check" balance before the new higher-interest regular charges we had made.

The above information is correct for Disney vacation package charges at 0%.

All other promo rates will be handled like typical credit cards, and your payment will go to the lowest rate charges first.

This question comes up a lot. The payments will be applied to your other (non 0%) charges AS LONG AS YOU WAIT UNTIL YOUR STATEMENT CLOSES FOR THE MONTH. People who send in payments between statements find them applied to the 0% balance, much to their surprise.
