Disney Visa Card ???? HELP

CAREFUL!!!

You must insist to the TA to inform disney that you want to take advantage of the 0% no interest offer on your Disney visa.

If you don't, then you will hav to pay the balance in full or be subject to your standard APR.

For example, I had a rez fully paid with the promo correctly applied. Then due to the FD promo I made a 2nd rez temporarily (my AAA TA was on vacation). When she came back and made the changes, we eventually paid the difference. I then canceled my 2nd rez and got credited back.

Well, CRO aparently did not flag the deposit with the promo. However the credit was applied to the promo APR, so now $200 are no longer in the promo.

Had to spend half hour on the phone with chase so they would submit it for review... ugh

Oh, and BTW, the 0% is only on full packages - I verified this today again. My current stay at YC was a room only rez and did not qualify for the 0% promo.

I use my Disney Visa for all purchases and we have accumulated a lot of Disney dollars for our trip next year.
Also we received 2 different codes for 3 and 5% additional points when you use it for groceries and gas! That built up a lot of points fast!
The other great thing is you call the card services and they issue you a pre loaded card with your points and we used it for everything until it was down to a 0 balance. I used it everywhere in Disney from our hotel to the pretzel cart and AK! We already have enough on it now to pay for 3 nights at the Contemporary next August! Hopefully by then we will be able to pay for more of our hotel bill. Plus Late August is know for free dining for Visa card holders.

HOORAY! :cool1: :cool1:   :dance3: :dance3:
I got approved for my new Disney Rewards Visa and they are sending it express mail!!!!

COME ON Disney Visa CODES!!!!

I just got my Tinkerbelle card last night

I do have a question...I want to make a reservation for Dec 09 and know when and where I want to stay. If I pay in full, can I then apply a promo code later on down the road? If not, then I pay the $200 minimum but is that the only portion that would be good for the 0% for 6 month deal when using the Disney Visa to book the package? Am I making sense at all?

Are the codes for additional points just random? Or is that something I can ask for?

I chose Tink too! You are able to apply codes after booking (if dates/resort are available).

I was mailed 2 different codes for additional points but I think it was totally random. I could only max out at 100 additional points.
I have not gotten a code in about 6 months I hope I get another one!

You can make your reservation with your Disney Visa. If it is for a package then your deposit will be $200 and you will be able to use the zero interest for 6 months. The timeframe for the 6 months will be on your statement and that will be one promo amount and have its own expiration. The balance for a package is due 45 days prior to arrival. That amount will have its own promo and start when you pay it. They will have 2 seperate ending dates and that's when the payment in full is due to avoid interest on it. If I were you and had the entire amount, I would make the deposit and place the rest of the money in a savings account to gain interest. I would pay in full when necessary and just make the payments necessary and keep the money to payoff in the savings until needed for payoff (6 months after the charge is made).

If you are making a room only reservation, the zero interest program does not apply. You make a one night deposit and the balance for the room is due upon check in. The Disney Visa promo does not apply to a room only reservation just packages.

You can make the reservation and apply any discount codes as they come along if they apply to your Resort/type of reservation. Who knows free dining or a reduced rate may come along.

Hope this helps.

Just wanted to update you all that I did receive my Tink Visa yesterday. They sent it to me UPS overnight! Now that was after waiting almost 2 weeks for them to get around to processing my application. But there's hope if you have applied and are waiting for a DRV code to come out....

Thank you so much disneyfan55! That's exactly the information I needed!!!!! I took your advice yesterday and booked my package and only paid the deposit (for now) using my Disney Visa!

Question. We have had our card for over a year now and I have never heard about the free dining perk. We leave in less than 2 weeks. How can I get free dining?

First I would look at the Disney Visa site and see if your dates are included. All you have to do is have the start date within the promo dates. Apply online for the card. I did have my card but on these boards some have written that they applied online and booked then called and had the free dining applied. I would call and talk to someone to make sure that's the procedure. At this late time you may not get your hotel but who knows. Good luck. Just to let you know the offer has been out there since mid Sept. We did have a reservation starting the 28th (but had the card already)and were able to apply so good luck!

The dates, codes etc are also on threads on these boards as well as Mousesavers.com. Mousesavers.com has all promos available and is a great site to check out as well as this!

There are some benefits to the card, that other people talked about, such as the 6 months of 0% interest on Disney vacations. I got one mainly for the $50 disney giftcard promotion that was in the back of Birnbaum's 2009 book. My DH got one too, so we'll have $100 in gift cards for Disney for free, even if we don't get any rewards.

We're going to Disney in Jan. 2009, but don't go all that often, so the card isn't that helpful to us in terms of earning rewards, we use our Costco AMEX for that (rebate check for Costco), and our Citibank card (can redeem points for gift cards, and I always get Target ones). But if we can get a discount using it, I will be very happy to put my vacation on it this year. Hopefully a code will come out soon.

It's a free card, so there's no real downside to having it. We'll keep it and probably use it every now and then, but it won't be our primary card.

Thanks for the info. We are going down with our DVC and AP this trip, so we are not booking a package. It seems that that is the only way to get the free dining. Is that correct or can DVC and/or AP holders get free dining too?

The free dining is part of a package where you do have to purchase at least a 1 day pass per person. We have AP and found it a better deal to book the value at 82/night plus tax and get the 1 day (that it good forever and can be used in the future to renew AP) than the room discount rate of 54/night.

I just applied today!! We are going Dec. 13-21 and hope to use our gift card:goodvibes We are staying at SOG this trip, but hoping that a Disney Visa offer comes out for June as I want to take my DS for his 10th birthday for a small mom and son trip. Free dining would be nice!!

Anyway, crossing my fingers I get my card before our December trip:thumbsup2

I've had my card for almost 2 years.(I called last year to change to a Tink card, and the person told me there would be a new card coming out and if I called back in a week, I could get it before it was available to the public. So I ended up getting the new Castle card, sight unseen-Ilove it)
I'll be using our earned points for our 2009 trip, have $650 now!
Can I use my rewards card when calling to make ressies for package through Disney like a credit card? Or use it to pay back on my card?
Where/how have you all used your rewards?:flower3:

My family of 5 have been to Disney only twice and have LOVED it each time!!! In both cases I was able to save significant $$$ by on points earned through my Disney VISA. I use the card for groceries, gas, eating out, etc. The first trip saved me over $1,000 and about $700 on the second trip. This year I just added my Allstate monthly auto insurance payment, Comcast cable and Verizon Wireless payments. It all gets paid anyway, so why not earn the Disney points. If you want to buy some stuff before the trip you can use points at the Disney store. I can't say enough about it!!! As a Disney VISA card holder you also qualify for special discounts on rooms, packages, tickets, etc. Just watch for the codes on this website. GREAT CARD!!!
:)
