Disney Visa Card ???? HELP

I just scanned through the responses and didn't see the 5 times bonus that currently is offered to some Disney Visa holders. Disney Visa has had 5 times the Disney Dollars (with a 100 additional per quarter limit) bonus. My offer is to earn the additional on purchases of grocery, gas, dining and airline for the quarter. You earn the regular dollars as you go and the additional 4 percent at the end. It's a good deal as long as you are sure to pay the balance off asap. I actually have sent in a payment before charging groceries etc for the month. You can't let the credit card have a running balance where they actually make out by earning interest on everyday items that need to be pd. each month. Just another benefit of the card. We did earn quite a few additional dollars and did also get the free dining a few weeks ago!! We used the zero interest on the free dining as well!!! Pretty good deals with that and you can use the card and pay the regular charges and Disney Visa lets the zero % balance remain the last to be paid to allow use during the no interest timeframe! There are also bonus dollars to apply for the card, on WDW site I think it's 40 and if you know someone with the Disney Visa and they give you their code, you get 25 gift card and they receive 25 Disney Dollars, in all $50!

May I ask how hard it is to get the Disney Visa Card? I mean we have decent credit, but I would honestly have to say we're far from wealthy, just wondering how good your credit has to be to get one?? Thanks for any info.:)

I would think just as good as any other regular credit card. It's with Chase Bank if that helps.

well that probably leaves us out, we only have one credit card and it is through Chase!:confused3
Thanks for your reply!;)

I've had the disney visa for about 5 years.
Since you only get 1% it takes a long time to accrue disney dollars.

Currently I have about 650.00 accrued.
We plan to use it to get a few nights free.

Either that or a dining plan.
Either way it will come in handy.

Maybe you can switch it somehow or just apply since you already bank with Chase, they know your history.

I might give that a try, I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say, we've been with them for over 5 yrs. now and we have good credit with them, so they may be able to....:)

don't count yourself out on that account! We have 2 Chase cards. We had the Disney Visa first, then opened another Chase card that had a good cash back offer. It was no problem to open more than one Chase card.

We also, have 2 credit cards from Chase. There is a short payment period , about 10 days after you receive the bill.

We pay it off in full every month so never paid a finance charge........Trip to POP coming up in November, $450 rewards dollars to spend and Free dining..........it's definately worth it for us to have the card!!!!

We don't like a lot of cards either, but we opened this card JUST to get free dining for our trip in November. At 7 nights, that's a $700 savings for our family of five right there. So I would say that this card is paying a really nice dividend right away!

That and you have 6 months zero interest. We always try to have the funds for our vacations prior to going, but with the zero interest, we keep the money in savings for the 6 months and earn a little!!

Plus the zero interest for 6 months! We pay the minimum on the card and any new charges in full. The Promotional amount is the last to have payments applied, (unusual for a credit card, usually the zero rate gets payment first) We keep the balance of the money in a savings account until the promo is over and pay it off before the promotion runs out!! Win win for us.

We use our Disney Visa for several of our monthly bills and charges. We are about to use the Visa to pay for our upcoming trip and take advantage of the 6 month 0% financing. My question is, do we have to stop making monthly charges on our Visa to take advantage of the 0%? I don't want the APR to go up because we have charges in addition to the trip - how does that work????

THat's the one thing that's great about the Disney Visa as long as you pay off the entire "balance subject to interest" the zero balance will remain interest free. I did check this out last year and did do it on my card. I did, however, call Chase making sure of it and only used the card for the first month for a few small purchases just in case I was told incorrectly. I would just double check to see if it's still this way. This is the only card that I've heard of doing this. Usually the zero promotions are paid off first so the credit card co. can make interest income.

Woo-hoo!!!!!!! I was worried about not getting it because we already have a Chase card, then when I applied and they didn't answer right away, I was like yeah I won't get it, but it came in the mail today!! I can't begin to tell you how happy I am. It will be such a good feeling knowing that from now on when I use a card I will be getting rewards I'll actually use!!
I just wanted to share my happy news, what a wonderful early Christmas present to me! As London(on Zac and Cody) would say YEAH ME!!!;)

We use our Disney Visa for all purchases (gas, groceries, bills) and then record the $ as if it's already been spent. Then we completely pay the credit card off at the end of the month. That way, we pay no interest. We have been doing this for about 2 years, and so far we have $780 in rewards for our next trip!

Originally this was the case. payments would apply to the promo first, then to the rest. This was back when it started (I'm a chartmember).

Now, you don't even need to pay the minimum balance if you pay the rest of the statement in full.

What I did find out is that only packages are part of the promotion, not room only rez...

My .02..
