I just wanted to vent. I hate the fact that Disney discontinued the Disney Club and substituted the Disney Visa instead. My wife and I are Dave Ramsey fans and would never use a credit card and I think it is terribly short sighted of Disney to snub loyal Disney fans such as us (and PAP holders, to boot) by limiting many discounts (and first discounts) to only credit card holders. For Walt's Sake!, what about us who do not like the credit trap or
those who cannot get a Disney Visa? Why not a Disney Visa debit card? I just don't think Eisner cares. I really hope Roy wins next month. There, I'm through.

I agree. My GF and I are just now staring to get out of debt from the credit card trap. We will never own another credit card again.

I'm pulling my hair out right now because I want some general codes for June or at least AP rates. I will not get a credit card just to get a discount.

Oh well. Even if we don't get a discount, I'm sure we'll have a great trip. It's just that we saved $245 last time between our code rate and free upgrade, and I've been spoiled. I budgeted for rack rate, though, so we should be OK.

There are a lot of us out there that are in total agreement!

I WANT MY DISNEY CLUB CARD REACTIVATED!

Honestly, you are NOT missing anything!

*LOL* I've been a "member" since day 1 and I find this card a real *dog*. The rewards are minimal, and the couple of "packages" they've had out would have hardly saved me anything.

I am an Ap holder and DVC member but not Disney credit card holder. I did apply and was denied...too much outstanding debt which $9000 is DVC purchase..figure that one out. They approve my financing DVC thru Disney but will not give me a credit card to use .
So here I sit hoping that a few rooms are left when the AP rates are finally released and all of us AP only people will have something to restore our faith in Disney, that they do care about us AP holders.

Makes you wonder what kind of "KICKBACK" michael's crowd is getting from Visa:mad:

We can't get the discounts because we don't use his card. (ROFL)

There are those of us who do not care for the credit card trap and don't use them but that should not make anyone who does use it any more entitled to a discount than us:tongue:

I also believe in debt free living. My husband and I use a credit card for conveince, travel, and reward programs.
We got the Disney Visa in October and didn't activate it until yesterday so that we could use it for this offer. We will pay it as soon as the bill comes and will most likely cancel the card after our trip, since we will then be using a different card to get air miles for a trip to Hawaii. We never charge anything that we cannot afford and pay the bill in full every month. Just my opinion.

You are right about this. You can use this card and stay debt free too. You are the one in control of that situation. In fact my understanding is to get the offer you only have to use the card to pay the deposit.

I am sorry, but I live in Nashville where Dave Ramsey lives.

He has some good advice, but.... don't believe everything he says. Let's get real.... he has gotten rich off of his advice. His best interst lie with getting you to fork over money for his books etc....

Credit cards are NOT evil. People can get into trouble with them, but that is not the cards fault. The card is incapable of charging without your help.

Sammie: CRO told me that that balance had to paid with a Disney Visa. Anyone else told the same thing?

I was also told you had to pay the balance with the card as well as the deposit.

My DH and I also don't believe in credit card debt. However we do use one for mileage and pay all of our bills (groceries, gas, etc) with it. When we get the bill, we pay the entire amount and don't carry a balance. Instead of using the one for the mileage, we will use the Disney Visa for our upcoming trip in June so we can get the discount. We will pay that off also as soon as we get that bill as well.

Interesting, another case of different stories from different Cast Members in CRO.

Personally at times I think they like the confusion they cause as it makes it easier when someone messes up. :)
