I originally posted this in error under theme parks. Excuse the re-read if you saw it there.
I have not yet applied for a Disney visa. I did receive the PIN for a room discount. I would like to know if there are any benefits to applying for a Disney Visa, will I get a better deal/discount/promo than the 10% to 30% room discount. Looking to go in June. I have done Free dining in June but I don't believe thats offered so much at that time. Thought and suggestions, please.

With the DV you get notices before others when packages are released and discounts to some restaurants, tours, and gift shop when you spend over $50. But you also get Disney dollars back. I will have almost $200 in spending money when I go in May with mine.

Some of the benefits. Cardholders sometimes get a 3- to 7-day jump start on the general public when discounted vacation packages are offered for Walt Disney World.
As a cardholder you may receive special deals on other Disney products and services, such as park tours, Disney’s Broadway and Disney on Ice shows, DisneyStore.com merchandise and other exclusive merchandise. With Disney Rewards Visa, you pay no interest for 6 months on Disney cruise packages or ticket-inclusive Disney vacation packages when you or your travel agent book through Disney Cruise Line or the Walt Disney Travel Company and charge the package to your Disney Rewards Visa Card prior to arrival. We have the premier card which has a $50 annual fee, but we get 2% on Gas, groceries etc. instead of 1%. We usually get the $50 back in Disney Rewards by the 3rd or 4th month. We pay it off monthly, because if you cannot do that then it's not worth it with their high interest.

Very proud of my "Day 1" Disney Visa! That means we ordered our Disney Visa right when they came out! Our college-age son just got his first Disney Visa (Darth Vadar, or course). We love using the Disney dollars. Each trip we have had a lot to play with since it is really the only card we use. Also, there are certain restaurants at Disney that give you 10% off the bill, if you pay by Disney Visa, or if you are using your Disney dollars (that is a double dip for sure - 10% off of free money!). Of course, always read all the fine print when signing up for any credit card, right?
