I am in the process of muying into VWL and was wondering if anyone knows of benefits of accumulating points with a Disney Visa?

Almost welcome home! There is a VWL Groupie thread on this board that you may want to join in on!:yay:

We have the Disney Visa to supplement our other 2 charge cards. Different rewards for different cards. We like the Disney Visa for paying our dues and collecting reward dollars, for DCL on board credit for using it and for certain things at Disney that it is good for. But specifically DVC, no, not so much other than dues.

We use the reward credits for purchases at the World.

I use the reward points to pay the yearly maintenance fees. Also, it doesn't apply to VWL, but for anyone purchasing at least 160 pts. @ SSR or AKV before 11/30/07 there are 500 bonus rewards (only applies if the Disney Visa account was open prior to 09/07). That would be in addition to the normal 1% earned.

Interesting.......So for those who have done it, how would I use rewards $ to pay for annual dues? We were told they were to be auto-debited from our checking acct.

I don't use the rewards $ to pay for our dues.
I pay the dues with the credit card and reap the rewards towards something more fun.

We did not set up our maint dues to be automatically taken out of our checking account (we don't let any business do that). We chose to pay them annually, which will be next month. We will just call in the Visa number and it will be done.:wizard:

I don't have a Disney Visa, but have thought about getting one. How is the interest rate they are offering?

I try to stick to cards offering the lowest rate. They have been going up a bit lately but my Capital One is charging 8.29% (up from 7.9% when I got it a couple of years ago.)

Sorry, I don't carry a balance so I don't keep track of the rates.

What timing! I just called and applied for a card tonight! (yes, they were working at 9pm on thanksgiving night...!) I never carry a balance, but wanted to have the Disney dollars.

We had received 2 different offers in the mail... for zero percent for 6 months or until March 2009  on purchases and balance transfers.

Another offer came to us with a $75 credit of (I believe) Disney dollars - I've heard people use that $75 to apply to their dues.. we missed the cut-off date on that one. It came out this October, due by Oct 31st. I also had received that same offer in October of 2006.

Lastly, I noticed on disneyshopping . com that you can get the zero for 6 months, and get $25 instantly off on your order...

Lots of different offers out there! Lots at zero percent.
