Disney Visa ABD offer

For the first time ever (or at least since I've had my Disney Visa), I received a discount offer for ABD. It's $300 off the reservation for any itinerary, any date. Not as good as $300 per person, but it's something. Offer is good until 6/1/12, so I'm hoping that means it will still be good once they release the 2013 itineraries, assuming the May release date rumors are true.

I just got an email announcing that ABD is now offering $300 off per reservation if you pay for your Adventure using your Disney Visa card. Actually, it's a bit ambiguous, as it says "by booking" your ABD using your Visa card. So I'd be sure & clarify exactly what's required when you book.

It does *not* include the DCL ABD add-ons or the one-day Lights, Camera, Magic! tour. Otherwise it looks like it's good for any departure between 5/20/2012 and 12/22/2012 (isn't that the day the Mayans say the world is going to end?).

Heh! You beat me to it by *that* much! :) Guess I'll combine the threads!

I suspect that you can. The fine print on last year's Visa Gift Card offer was very similar to this one and I got the gift card and the Costco Cash Card.

So, once again, it appears to have been a mistake to book early. :headache: Happy for anyone who was on the fence that this helps, but a little frustrated at the same time.

That figures. We just finished paying ours off last week.

The prices have gone up on some of the trips/dates since they were released. If your date is one of those, you probably got a better price by booking early than you would have with $300 off your entire reservation.

Of course waiting for this deal is more than offset by the airfare savings of the early bookers.

Still wondering when ABD will figure out that most successful tour bookers award the biggest savings to:
  1. Return customers: LOYALTY!
  2. Early bookers: Reward the planners!
  3. Last minute bookers: to fill up the groups

You are right mapsd. This deal is nice, but we got an early booking discount from Dreams Unlimited. Plus, I keep checking our airfare, and it's still much higher now than the price I got just before New Year's. Our tickets to Rome and home from Venice were $1050, and there is still nothing near that. I did notice that the prices seem to be dropping a bit, but the flight combinations are not nearly as convenient, with 2 stops for me instead of the 1 stop that I got. So, I'm happy I booked when I did.

On top of the saving on the airline prices, I think booking early may still get the best price for ABD too. We were thinking of planning an ABD trip for this summer but ended up making other plans. However, I have been watching several trips since the dates were released for 2012 and the price of the trips has increased enough (and in come cases more than) the $300/ trip that you will save with this offer. So you have to factor in that while some offers come out later, the price for many dates has increased in the meantime.

I kept an eye on the trips to get a feel for what to do if we want to book one for 2013 or 2014 and based on what I have seen, I think booking when the dates are released is the way to go (and hopefully combine that with a TA early booking incentive.) ;)

This makes me feel a little better. I went back and checked, and our trip had gone up $150 pp. So with three of us, we did do better to book early.

Airfare wasn't available for our December trip until mid February, and we booked just last week...it didn't change much in that time, so we didn't save anything there by booking early. I guess some of that depends on when you are actually traveling in relation to when the trips are released.

Anyway, on a trip that's costing a family of three well over 20K, all-in, I can't believe I was letting myself get annoyed over a hundred dollars here or there. I'm really just grateful we get to go!
