Disney VISA 40% code - room only/package?

I have a reservation at BLT for Jan 2010 with the premium plan. I have a Disney Visa card and received the 40% off code. I called to have the 40% off applied to my existing reservation and the CM said that I would have to change my reservation to room only to get the discount. He said that he could take the 40% off the new room only reservation and then I could add the regular or deluxe dining plan to it but NOT the premium plan. I told him that I'd call back. Has anyone been able to have the 40% applied to an existing reservation without dropping their plan? Has anyone made a new reservation with the 40% off Visa code and then added the premium plan?

It is correct that you have to swap to a "room only" res, and then you can add the dining plan back on... I do not know however, if you can add the premium plan. You might ask a second CM when you call again, and maybe they will give you a different answer.
