I was looking at the perks on the Chase Disney visa website last night. I noticed that it included a 10% discount when you spend $50 or more at a disney owned store. I initially thought that it only included placed like world or disney or other merchandise stores but then read the fine print that a few resteraunts were excluded (t-rex, rainforest, etc). So does this mean that the discount is good at other restreaunts? Specifically if I go to Biergarten and spend more than $50 on the buffet and drinks for my wife and I, do I get a 10% discount by paying with my Disney Visa?

As a followup, if I charge things back to my room during the week and then pay off that bill with the Disney Visa will I get the 10% off then as well?

No. You cannot get any sort of restaurant discount using the Disney Visa.

The only reason the T-Rex and Rainforest locations are mentioned is because they have very large gift shops, they are located on Disney property, but since they are not Disney-owned you cannot get any sort of discount at either spot using the Visa.

As for your 2nd question, you must present the Disney Visa at the point and time of purchase in order to receive the discount. I do believe you must charge it to the card right then and there, not pay it off via the room later on. However, I could be wrong. Somebody else may know.

You can get a 10% discount on pretty much all restaurants at Disneyland with the Disney Visa, but not WDW.

The above poster is correct - T-Rex and RFC have stores. They're not Disney-owned so their stores are excluded.

You cannot get a 10% discount on charges to your room or restaurants at WDW. You can use reward points you've earned on your Disney VISA to pay for room charges and at most WDW restaurants. The 10% discount only applies to merchandise at the shops. Double check at each store to make sure they discount. DTD has some non-Disney owned stores, so they probably won't honor the discount, but it doesn't hurt to ask. At the World of Disney store last June, the clerk told me I didn't have to pay with my Disney VISA, just show it to her to get the discount. I paid with my cc anyway, since I had it out. On a previous visit the year before, I was told I had to pay with the VISA. I don't know if the rules changed or it was a case of different CMs operating under different assumptions.
