Question about the 6 month 0% offer for vacation packages:

I want to go to WDW in November and want to use the 6 month offer. Do I have to put my whole trip on the card now if I want to book this month?

If I only put the $200 deposit on the card, can I make the full payment in October and still receive 6 month 0% after the full payment date (April 2014)?

Or does the 6 month clock start ticking once I put the deposit on the card this month and the whole thing needs to be paid by November?

FYI: I only use this card for promotional offers and do not put anything else on the card so I am not worried about how the payment is applied.

The 6 months @ 0% is for each transaction. So if you put $200 down now you'll get 0% interest on that for 6 months - you'll still need to make monthly payments. Pay the balance in November and, as long as you make the minimum monthly payments, you'll have 0% interest until April. HTH

Many ppl get frustrated with the 6 months at 0% because they dont understand it.

Yes, it's correct that each transactions gets it's own 6 months.

So if you put the $200 deposit now, that will get 6 months @ 0%, and then when you pay the balance that will get it's own seperate 6 months @ 0%

Here's where ppl get confused. Whatever payments you make automatically go toward your higher APR. Meaning if you have a balance on the card, whatever payments you make will go to the balance, NOT toward the 0% amount.

Meaning in order for the 0% to be truly effective, you need to either pay your entire balance in full, or do not charge anything else to the card, forcing whatever payment you make to go to your 0%.

There is one little short-cut many ppl dont know about. There is 1 possible way to make a payment directly to the 0%, while still having a balance on the card. You have to wait until you are within 30 days of your 0% expiring. You can not do it 31, 42, 50 or 79 days, it must be 30 or less. You can call and make an over the phone payment directly to the 0% amount and verify that they will apply your payment to the 0%. It can be done, you have to specifically state you are within 30 days of your 0% expiring and you want to make a payment directly to that amount. If the first person you speak with says no, ask to be transfered to somebody else. If the agnt on the phone dosen't seem to know what your talking about, ask to be transfered.

Thanks! This is exactly what I want to do. I don't use the card for anything else. I just wanted to make the $200 down payment now (and pay off immediately) just to get a package booked to start making ADR's in about a week. Then, pay off the balance when it's due in October and have the 0% interest for six months after that date (pay off in 2014).
