Disney Visa 0% financing question

Hi all,

I have booked a vacation package for December through my travel agent, and have so far only paid the deposit.

I just signed up for, and was approved for, the Premier Disney Visa. All of the websites and information I can find say the 0% financing is for Disney Packages. But I'm getting conflicting information on whether I'll get the financing for using the Visa to pay the balance on the trip. I've even called the Disney Rewards help line and they weren't able to help.

In an ideal world, I'd obviously like to get the 0% financing. If I can't work a way to do it for an already booked trip (without risking my ADRs and room reservations), I'll still use the card to get the $200, then pay it off. ;) However, I thought I'd check here to see if anyone has information on how or whether this works. That way I know what to expect.

And who knows, maybe someone can help get me the 0%. Wishes do come true.... :wizard:

I beleive you need to pay the package price in full on the Disney Visa in order to qualify for the 0% financing. You may be able to have them switch the deposit onto the disney card in order to qualify.

I booked through AAA for our last 2 trips and portioned out our balance. I put the $200 deposit first, then a month later put 25% of the total down on my Disney Visa. I waited a few more months and put another 25%. And finally paid the balance 2 months before the trip.

Each time it was billed on my card as special promotion balance. So I got 6 months interest free on each portion with its own due date. I don't know if it made a difference because the initial deposit was done with a Disney Visa, but I don't see why you shouldn't be able to add the balance to your new card and get the financing.

At the very least, even if you don't get financing you'll get 2% back in Disney reward dollars. We upgraded to the premier card last year and have $315 in reward money to use for our trip in December.

I think any payment you make to the Walt Disney Travel Co is eligible for the 6-months no-interest deal. The deposits for room-only reservations on my card have always been to Disney Destinations and have not been part of the special financing, nor have any charges made at the resort. But every time I make any sort of package payment in any amount, it shows up as interest-free from the date of the payment.

Hope this helps!
